One of my biggest insecurities is my spider veins. I hate them! I have been looking for a way to easily cover spider veins and I have finally found something that really works.
I wanted to share this frugal beauty tip that has worked for me because I have tried a lot of products and I needed something that was affordable and effective.

How to Cover Spider Veins with Leg Makeup
I had talked to my dermatologist about what options there were for getting rid of my spider veins. They do have treatments you can get in a doctor’s office but you may need anywhere from 2-4 treatments and each one costs about $300-$500! And to top that off, the results only last for 6 months to a year. That’s it!
I don’t know about you, but that wasn’t in my budget. I started doing some research online of different products that I could use and one kept coming up over and over again, Dermablend Leg & Body Cover. I wanted to give it a try and see how it worked for me.
I’m not going to lie, this is a bit pricey for makeup, at least for what I normally spend on makeup. It is $31 for a a 3.4 oz bottle but it was well worth it for me.
I purchased the lightest color, Ivory. This matched really well with my skin tone, they have six shades that you can choose from to find your best match.

How to Cover Spider Veins on Ankles and Legs
I really needed to cover my spider veins on my ankles and legs since that is where they are the worst. I dabbed a little bit onto the problem areas and then just blended it in with my little beauty sponge. I really love my beauty sponge, it was only $0.99 on Amazon!
I had to do a couple of layers of the Dermablend Leg & Body Cover because I wasn’t sure how dark it was going to look on me.
Always start with a small application and add as you need it. This helps you blend it out better so that it looks natural and not like you are wearing makeup. You can see in the pictures below the before and after of my ankles, I think they look amazing!
I also saw that this can be used to cover up tattoos and scars! I have a small scar on my left leg that has a red color as well as some spider veins on my other ankle so I used it to cover them both. It worked great!
I love that this is so easy to put on and you can just wash it off when you shower. I have tried other methods to cover my spider veins, like using self tanner, but that just takes so much longer to do since I have to cover my whole leg and not just the parts I want to camouflage.
I can easily cover spider veins with leg makeup by making this a part of my morning routine.
For the best results, you are supposed to use a finishing powder over the makeup to really make it stay in place. Dermablend has a finishing powder that you can use but it is a bit more then I want to spend.
I use the NYX Studio Finishing Powder to set mine and it works great. Plus, it is less than $10!
The Dermablend Leg & Body Cover can also be used to cover vericose veins as I know they usually go hand in hand with spider veins.
To cover vericose veins, I like to put the makeup on with a lip brush so that it is very precise and then just blend out the edges. This has worked really well for me.
I know that we all want to look our best and have confidence as we wear shorts and skirts this summer so this is just an easy way to cover spider veins that you may be self conscious about.

I’d like to know this as well since I haven’t worn shorts or a bathing suit in UEARS because my spider veins are sooooo bad! If the cover up works I want to head right to the beach! I MISS the beach SOOOO much and haven’t been in years :(. I hope they answer you soon!

Is this makeup water proof ?
Linda Bowers says
No, it does not. I live in the heat of Texas, and no matter how many carefully applied layers of Dermablend you used, carefully set with powder, in an hour or so you can definitely see where the Dermablend ends and bare skin begins, and as time goes on, the veins (and tattoos) clearly show through the makeup.
