There are so many ways that your eyes can make you look tired or older, it is different for everyone. I suffer from crow’s feet myself.
I don’t have the funds to get fancy and expensive facials or spa treatments to get younger looking eyes. Luckily, there are so many quality products on the market now that can help you get younger looking eyes in the privacy of your own home and at a much nicer price point!

There are three main problems that women experience with the look of their eyes: crow’s feet, puffiness, and dark circles.
I have put together a skin care regimen that you can start doing today to help repair and prevent these problems from appearing on the skin around your eyes.
I also wanted to give you a quick fix that you can do while you are waiting on the skin care products to start kicking in.
I suggested products that are affordable, I tried to keep them under $30, but that also work and do what they promise. The reviews on all of these products are really good!
Stick to these routines and you should have bright, gorgeous, younger looking eyes in no time!

Crow’s Feet
Let’s start with a problem that I am starting to face….crow’s feet! I know they are supposed to be signs of a happy, laughter-filled life but I really don’t like having wrinkles around my eyes.
They are also caused by sun damage so I am always trying to wear sunglasses outside, even in the winter. Here is how to take a stand against those little fine lines:
In the Morning: Use an eye cream that has both Vitamin C as well as SPF to help prevent more damage from happening to the thin skin around your eyes. I like the Kiehl’s Clearly Corrective Dark Circle Perfector.
At Night: Apply a cream that will pump up the collagen to create firmer skin. Look for a formula that contains retinol like, Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair Eye Cream.
A Quick Fix: A good eye primer will help fill in the lines around your skin so that concealer and foundation won’t cake in the creases to highlight the problem even more. Even without makeup, the primer will help give the skin a smooth appearance, I use the E.L.F. Hydrating Under Eye Primer and I love that it is only $3!
A Makeup Fix: If you are going to use makeup to cover up crow’s feet, use a lightweight formula so it doesn’t settle into the lines. I use the Physicians Formula Instaready Concealer. You can also take a cotton ball and gently glide it over your eyes right after you apply your makeup. This will lift off any excess makeup.
Puffiness
Your eyes can get puffy because you ate a lot of sodium, you watched a sad movie, or you have dry eyes. It is very easy for the under eye area to get puffy because it is prone to retain water.
If you suffer from puffy eyes, here are some tricks you can try for younger looking eyes.
In the Morning: You need coffee to wake up your brain so use caffeine to wake up your skin as well. A caffeine infused eye gel like, Garnier SkinActive Clearly Brighter Eye Roller, will help flush out fluids around the eyes.
At Night: Use the same gel as you did in the morning but also make sure your head is elevated as you sleep. It will help prevent fluid build up. Also cut back on having alcohol right before you head to bed. You can also apply some Preparation H to the under eye area so you won’t be as puffy in the morning.
A Quick Fix: An easy way to get some quick results is to use de-puffing eye patches. The Skyn Iceland Hydro Cool Firming Eye Gels have great reviews. They can help constrict the blood vessels and firm skin. Make sure you keep them in the fridge to encourage fluid drainage.
A Makeup Fix: When your eyes are swollen, they can appear smaller so don’t use a dark eyeliner on your bottom lids. Trace the inner rims of your eyes with a nude liner to make them look larger. I like the Maybelline Lasting Drama Waterproof Gel Pencil in Soft Nude. It goes on really smooth.
Dark Circles
You may think that you have dark circles because you didn’t get enough sleep, but the truth it there are so many different causes of dark circles: allergies, genetics, thin skin, etc.
Although, stress and no sleep can make them worse! Here are some ways to fight back!
In the Morning: Use a cream that has peptides and Vitamin C to help thicken and brighten your skin. A good drugstore product is Olay Eyes Illuminating Eye Cream.
At Night: If you suffer from seasonal allergies, take a 24 hour medication to help keep irritation at bay. I like using Claritin to combat my allergies. Plus, you won’t be rubbing your eyes to cause even more irritation!
A Quick Fix: If you don’t have time to do a full face of makeup, you can quickly apply a creamy highlighter to downplay your dark circles. If you have fair or olive skin, use a champagne shade and if you have dark skin, use a gold tone. Almay Instant Glow Highlighting Duo has both shades.
A Makeup Fix: I am a big fan of color correcting! You can hide so many imperfections just by using combating colors! You have to use color correcter to really hide dark circles because concealer only lightens skin.
I have a full color correcting guide to help you chose the right colors for your skin tone and dark circle colors. I really like the Maybelline New York Master Camo products. You can buy a full palette or just a single color if you only have one color problem.
No matter what skin problem you are suffering from, there is a great routine you can start doing to see results! Use one or all of these skin care regimens to get younger looking eyes right at home!
