Are you sick and tired of going to the same old job and doing the 9-5 everyday? I know that I was and I needed a major career change! I got tired of working for someone else and not doing what I really loved. I wanted to be able to enjoy my work and I wanted to be able to spend more time with my family.
I knew that I wanted to be able to work from home and set my own hours. Blogging is what really worked out for me. It is something that I love doing and it allows me to be able to stay at home during the day with my daughter.

I know that blogging isn’t for everyone but there are so many free classes and courses available online for so many interests. You can learn how to become a photographer, virtual assistant, Amazon seller, Etsy seller, blogger, graphic designer, and so much more.
All it takes is a lot of ambition and hard work. I know that most people don’t have the money to really take college courses and online classes when they are wanting to make a career change.
I love that there are so many free classes offered online so that you can really see what all is involved in a particular career and see if it is a right fit for you before you go out and invest money into it.
I’ve put together a list of some of my favorite free classes so that you can get some more info on a topic you may be interested in. This could be a life changing move for you!
Virtual Assistant
If being a virtual assistant is something that interests you, check out Jumpstart your Virtual Assistant Career. It is a free 5 lesson course taught by Gina Horkey. She makes over $20,000 per month working as a virtual assistant and freelancer. You simply sign up for the course and it gets sent right to your email.
Amazon FBA Seller
I have been an Amazon FBA Seller for over 2 years and I love it! It’s a great way to earn some extra side income and people make over $100,000 a year doing this full time. Jessica Larrew is one of those people and she offers an Amazon Boot Camp course that helps guide you through becoming an Amazon seller and being successful at it.
She offers a free video course of the first 3 lessons in her Amazon Boot Camp course. This is a great way to get more info and to see if this is something that would work for you.
Freelancer
If you love writing but don’t want to deal with having your own blog or website, you can write for others by becoming a freelancer. Gina Horkey also offers Kickstart your Freelance Writing Biz. It is a free 5 lesson course that is sent to your inbox. You can take it at your own pace.
Skillshare
This is a site that offers thousands of video courses on a wide variety of topics. Some of them are:
- web design
- business
- photography
- writing
- crafts
- and so much more
They are taught by experts in their field and they offer free classes as well as a paid membership. In order to find the free classes, click on Classes -> Filter-> Free. It should then bring up all of the free classes that they offer in all of the categories.
Skilshare does offer a very inexpensive membership option if you would like access to all of the videos. You can get your first month of Premium classes for free!
Creative Live
Creative Live is similar to Skillshare in that they both offer a wide variety of classes. Creative Live lets you pay for previous classes or you can watch free classes as they are live.
You can RSVP to their upcoming free classes and they will send you a reminder when they are live. Some of the topics they have are:
- Art & Design
- Photo & Video (great if you want to get started on Youtube)
- Music & Audio
- Craft & Maker
- Money & Life
Craftsy
If you want to learn how to make different crafts or hone your skills so that you can start selling on Etsy, you should check out the free classes offered by Craftsy.
They offer new classes all the time so the topics and categories will change. It’s a great way to see what else is out there in the craft world.
Udemy
This is another awesome source for video classes on a wide variety of topics. Just some of the categories offered are:
- Health and Fitness
- IT
- Business
- Design
- Marketing
- Photography
- and much more!
Udemy does offer courses you have to pay for and they can range anywhere from $20-$200. In order to find the free courses, go to the top search bar and type in “free courses in Udemy” and it should bring up all the ones that are available and there are a lot!
These free classes are great to see what my interest you and what you can possibly make money off of. I was able to get ideas I never would have even thought of.
They are also great just if you want to perfect a hobby or get out of your comfort zone by trying a new skill but not necessarily looking for a career change. If you know of any other free classes and if you have taken some yourself, let us know in the comments.

Awesome information!! What about finding work online that is legitimate.. Do you have any tips? I have used a couple of sites, but they seem very sketchy and nothing had worked out. I didn’t feel comfortable sharing my personal information and phone number with those who responded because they didn’t sound legit. Thanks for any info.

Hi Anna Mae,
I’m not sure what kind of work you are looking for exactly but you can start by checking out my “Make Money from Home” tab at the top of the site. Another good site to check out is mbasahm.com. She has links to a lot of sites that are legit. Hope that helps!
