I love getting my nails done but it isn’t always in the budget. You can save money on your mani/pedi by using a few money saving tricks and frugal beauty tips that anyone can do.
You can obviously do them yourself but when I do it, they never turn out as good as having someone else paint them. It is also a great way to have a date with a friend.

Tips to Save Money on your Mani/Pedi
BYOP. The next time you go to the nail salon, take your own nail polish. You will know that the polish isn’t old, it is good quality, and it hasn’t been thinned out.
Some salons may give you a discount if you bring your own polish. Plus, you can use it to do your own touchups at home and you won’t have to visit the salon as often.
Check deal sites. If you aren’t loyal to a specific salon, it is best to check out sites like Groupon for some amazing discounts. I’ve gotten a mani/pedi combo for 70% off!
Just make sure you look into the salon before buying the deal and read any reviews they have online. I’ve bought several discounts from Groupon and I’ve been pleased every time.
Remove your nails yourself. If you get a gel manicure or acrylic nails, don’t pay for another visit to the salon when you are ready to remove them. You can do that yourself at home.
There are so many good products available and they aren’t as harsh to your nails. If you are looking for a remover, the Onyx Professional Soak Off Remover has a lot of good reviews.
Ask for a polish change. Instead of getting the full manicure or pedicure, you can always just ask for a polish change and pay only a fraction of the cost.
You can get the full treatment like the foot soak, hand massage, cuticle clipping, etc. every other time. This will really save you money on your manicures and pedicures over the course of the year.
Don’t get pedicures in the winter. Splurge on them during the spring and summer when people will actually see your feet. You can just do your own pedicures at home during the winter with a small investment on some nail tools.
I really like using an electronic foot file, like the Amope, to keep my feet smooth and it only costs as much as one visit to the salon.
Have a manicure party. If you are like me and always end up having one hand look better then the other, invite some friends over and do each other’s nails. It could be a monthly get together.
You may even find some new nail products you like. Once the nails are done, have some wine and catch up on all the latest gossip!
Save Money at the Nail Salon
Extend the time between visits. If you go to the nail salon every 2 weeks, stretch it out to every month. If you go every month, stretch it out to every 6-8 weeks. You will be surprised at how much you can save money at the nail salon just by doing this simple thing.
Get a mani/pedi at the same time. If you are going to be getting a manicure and a pedicure every month, make sure you get them done at the same time. Most salons offer a discounted fee when you get them done together instead of doing them separately.
Check out a local beauty school. Most of them offer some great discounts on their services. They are performed by a student but they are supervised by the instructor. You can get some beautiful nails at a great price at a beauty school.
Empire beauty school is close to me. I checked out their prices and a basic manicure was $8, acrylics were $15, and a pedicure was $15. Yours might be even cheaper so check out their website to help you save money on your mani/pedi.
These are very easy things to do the next time you go to the salon. I know that we all have our little luxuries that we like to splurge on. For me it is Starbucks, for others it is their nails.
Are there any other ways you save money on your mani/pedi?
