July 2016 Blog Income Report: $2,078

August 4, 2016 by hewella1 9 Comments

I just put together my blog income report for this past month and I made over $2,000! I’m pretty excited about that because I am getting closer and closer to making my previous salary at my old full time job.

I like sharing my blog income reports so that you can see that it is possible to make a full time income doing something that you love. I also want people to know that it is not easy, you have to constantly work at getting better and working smarter.

You do not have to be tech savvy to be a blogger, I certainly am not. You can even start a blog for only $3.95 a month.

One of the ways I learned how to really make income from my blog was by taking the Elite Blog Academy course. I can’t recommend it enough. They will be open again for registration in February 2017 for EBA 3.0 so you can start saving up if you are interested in the course.

Ruth Soukup, the creator of EBA, actually has some free training videos that she is offering from EBA 2.0. You can sign up for that free training to get some great tips.

Here is how my income report breaks down:

  • Sponsored Posts: $1,035
  • Izea: $618
  • Media.net ads: $68.80
  • Amazon affiliate: $11.13
  • Skillshare: $95
  • ShopHer Media: $20.50
  • Shareasale: $106.20
  • various affiliate programs: $123

I am still waiting to here the exact numbers from a few other affiliates so once I get those, my total will probably be over $2,100!

My pageviews stayed steady last month, there were right over 100,000. I am trying to get these numbers to increase by trying out a new Pinterest strategy with the help of Boardbooster.

I love Boardbooster, it saves me so much time so I can focus on other things besides being on Pinterest all day! I am going to try this new strategy for a month or two and see what kind of a difference it makes not only to my pageviews but to my affiliate income as well.

I’ll let you know my results in my next two blog income reports so you can see if it is a success or not. That way you can apply it to your own blog!

How I Plan to Grow

I really want to double my income for next month, I think it is a realistic goal and I am going to try as hard as I can to reach it.

I recently took a course on affiliate marketing called: Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing and it is an investment that I am so glad I made. I have learned so much!

It is a course by Michelle Schroeder-Gardner and she is making $50,000 per MONTH just from affiliate income on her blog, Making Sense of Cents. I’ve already made back the money I spent on the course just 2 weeks after implementing her suggestions and strategies.

I still need to go back through my older posts and see how I can add affiliate links in them and add value to the post for not only me, but my readers as well.

I am also implementing the new Pinterest strategy I mentioned earlier. I am hoping that will lead to more pageviews which will lead to more income.

I am trying to read one new book or take a mini course on blogging every week. I love learning from other people and seeing what has and has not worked for them. I am currently listening to Problogger’s podcasts.

My blog has reached 100,000 pageviews for the last three months so I am contemplating switching ad networks and seeing if I get better results. I am pretty happy with Media.net but I might try something else for a month or two and see how they compare.

I also need to work on being more consistent with my email list. I want to send one out at least once every two weeks but I keep forgetting! I am going to focus on getting better at writing them and actually sending them out when I am supposed to.

Hopefully, by focusing on these improvements I will see both my pageviews and income increase. Look for next month’s blog income report to see if I can meet my goal. Wish me luck!

Very well done! I really liked Board Booster when I did the free trial. Their looping feature is very helpful.

Great job! How did you go about getting sponsored posts? Did you pitch to them on your own? Just curious! Very inspiring!

I didn’t pitch any directly this month, sometimes I will though. I got some campaigns through Influence Central, Izea, and TapInfluence for this month. I’ll be sure to add all that info in next month’s report.

Congrats on having a great month. I’m just starting to experiment with ads (and monetization for that matter). I’m working with Monumetric and the ads went live on Dec 2nd. I have no benchmark, though. I’m trying to hold off looking for a few more days.
