June 28, 2016 by hewella1 Leave a Comment

This will be my first year surviving summer with a toddler. My baby is no longer an infant 🙁 . I need a new strategy for getting through these long, hot days and making sure she is occupied.

What to do When your Child is Afraid of Public Restrooms

June 6, 2016 by hewella1 Leave a Comment

I have a hit a stumbling block when it comes to potty training. My child is afraid of public restrooms! I wasn’t prepared for this as it didn’t come up in any of the potty training books and articles that I have read. I knew I couldn’t be the only one with this problem.

I have tried a few methods to help my daughter overcome her fear of public restrooms. I thought it would be nice to share what is working for me in case other parents are having the same struggle. Toys to Spark your Child’s Imagination

May 31, 2016 by hewella1 Leave a Comment

It seems like our kids already have so many toys. I actually don’t mind my daughter having them as long as she plays with them and they help her learn or grow her imagination. I always try to get her toys that will spark her imagination. I really prefer them not to have batteries or chargers! If you are looking for a gift idea or just want to help your child with their skills, here is a list of toys to spark your child’s imagination.

Why I Let my Daughter Watch me Get Ready in the Mornings

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Disney Baby at Walmart. All opinions are 100% mine.

I never knew how special it would be to have a daughter. This Mother’s Day, I am reminded about that special bond between a mother and her daughter. My little girl is 2 now and it is such a fun, and admittedly, frustrating time. One of the special times that we have is in the mornings, it’s just the two of us. This is why I let my daughter watch me get ready in the mornings.

Potty Training Tips for New Parents

April 26, 2016 by hewella1 97 Comments

It is hard potty training any of your kids but the first child is probably the hardest. You don’t know what you are doing and can get easily frustrated. I’d like to share my potty training tips for new parents as I recently went through this myself.

I don’t think I’ve felt this clueless about something since the first day I brought my baby home from the hospital.
