I may have mentioned before how uncrafty I consider myself. That has started to change now that I have gotten used to my Cricut Explore Air 2. I wanted to share 5 things I love about my Cricut and why it has been worth the investment to me.

When I first received my Cricut Explore Air 2, I was a bit intimidated. Thank goodness for Youtube videos! I was able to watch step by step on how to do different projects until I felt comfortable making my own ideas.
Since I have started creating with my Cricut, I have made some pillows, coasters, shirts, tote bags, and more that have made some wonderful family memories and helped our personalities shine through.
You Don’t Need to be Tech Savvy
Setting up my Cricut and using the Cricut Design space was super easy. Even for a non-tech person like me. The machine comes with a step by step instruction booklet to make it so simple to get started.
I love that it even came with some cardstock and materials so you can do a practice project without messing up any vinyl or material that you have additionally purchased.
I really like that the Cricut Design Space already has so many images, fonts, and ideas uploaded. You don’t have to worry about making a design from scratch. You can easily make changes to any of the templates to personalize your project.
As you get more comfortable using Design Space, you can add your own files or designs as you go along.
You Can Make Hard to Find Things
Another reason I love my Cricut is it allows me to make items that I just can’t seem to find. My baby is due in a couple of months and we decided to go with a Safari theme for the nursery. I couldn’t find a cute throw pillow for the nursery that wasn’t too babyish.
I decided to use some Infusible Ink Transfer sheets in Animal and Cosmic and the Infusible Ink pillowcase blank to create one on my own.
I simply went into Design Space and found some animal silhouette images that would give me the look I was going for.
It only took a few minutes to put together and get the images cut out on my Cricut Explore Air 2. Once all of the images were cut out, I used the Cricut Easypress 2 to apply the Infusible Ink to the pillowcase.
And voila! 20 minutes later and I have an adorable Safari theme pillow for my baby’s nursery. I also did the same thing for my daughter’s room. She got a new mermaid themed bedding set and I created a mermaid throw pillow for her room since we couldn’t find one that she liked in the stores.
You Can Create So Many Items!
Like I mentioned above, I have been able to make so many custom items with my Cricut. I have made cards to send to family since we aren’t able to visit as much during the pandemic.
I made my daughter a Big Sister shirt to announce that we were going to have a baby. I’ve made the throw pillows above, and so much more.
I like using my Cricut to make gifts during the holidays. I made my mom some custom coasters for her living room with Infusible Ink.
There are just so many different materials and projects that you can make. Everything from leather, wood, window clings, felt, and so much more. It isn’t just vinyl and Infusible ink.
With the new baby coming, you better believe I am going to be making some adorable custom onesies!
You Can Start a Side Hustle
I am all about the side hustle! Once you get really comfortable using your Cricut machine, you can start making items to sell!
This is great to do during the holidays when people are looking for unique gift ideas. Let your friends, family, and neighbors know what you can create. You can even start your own little Etsy shop.
This is something that I have been thinking about doing to make a little extra money on the side. Plus, it’s a great way to get my creative juices flowing.
You Don’t Need to Have the Crafting Gene
I feel that some people are just born crafty. They are just so creative and can make a beautiful project out of anything with their “crafting gene”.
I am not one of those people. I need to see a completed project and get step by step instructions to be confident that it won’t turn into a disaster.
That is what makes me love my Cricut. It is just so easy to use, there are so many beautiful project ideas in Design Space. You can get clear instructions on each project with the exact materials you will need.
Anyone can make beautiful gifts and projects, even non-crafty people like me!
These are just 5 things I love about my Cricut. I could go on and on! Let me know if you love your Cricut and what beautiful creations you have made.
