Best Places to Buy Affordable Blanks for Cricut Projects

March 2, 2020 by hewella1 Leave a Comment

I love using my new Cricut Explore Air 2 but making the projects can get a little pricey. I wanted to share the best places to buy affordable blanks for Cricut projects so that you can still be crafty even on a budget.

I have made several projects on my Cricut and I am a bit obsessed. I’ve made shirts, coasters, and even a library tote bag for myself.

These are the best places to buy affordable blanks for Cricut projects. Use this list to find where to buy cheap cricut blanks for your next craft and gift ideas.

I try not to spend more than $5 on a blank for any of my Cricut projects. There are a few go to places that I always check first for certain Cricut blanks.

I wanted to put a list together so you will know all of the stores that offer cheap and affordable blanks for your next Cricut craft.

Post contains affiliate links. If you make a purchase, I will earn a commission at no extra cost to you.

Best Places to Buy Affordable Blanks for Cricut

Dollar Tree

The first place I always check is my local Dollar Tree. They have some amazing things that can be personalized or jazzed up with the Cricut.

Their inventory changes every month so I always go at least once a month to scope out what they may have. On my last trip I spotted some of the following items that would make great Cricut blanks:

  • plain baseball hats
  • mugs, wine glasses, and martini glasses
  • kitchen towels and oven mitts
  • organizing bins
  • plastic flower pots
  • pet bowls and leashes
  • socks and slippers
  • hairbrushes and mirrors
  • picture frames and candles

Amazon

If I am going to be doing multiples of a craft, I like checking out Amazon. They have everything you could possibly need for your Cricut projects.

I find that you get the best prices if you buy in bulk instead of buying individual items on Amazon. This is great if you are making co worker gifts or party favors.

They have all kinds of great prices on:

    • baby onesies
    • aprons
    • makeup bags
    • tumblers
    • tote bags
    • bibs
    • coozies
    • garden flags

Craft Stores

You can get some great deals at craft stores like Micheal’s, Jo Ann’s, and Hobby Lobby. I tend to find the best prices at Hobby Lobby.

They will usually have sales where you can get 40% off Cricut Accessories which is a great discount. This is good if you want to do infusible ink projects. It is recommended that you use the Cricut brand blanks for those.

For my regular iron on and vinyl projects, I will use any brand. They usually have blank shirts starting at $3 and I got a very sturdy tote bag for only $4.

Don’t forget to use their 40% off coupon on non-sale items for even more savings!

Cricut.com

Another great place to find some deals is Cricut.com. Their regular prices are a bit expensive so I only shop the site when they are having a sale.

Like the craft stores, this is the time to get blanks for any infusible ink projects you may be doing. They will usually have sales around the holidays.

Their blank shirts were $4 and the coaster sets were around $7 during their last sale.

Make sure to shop through Rakuten to get an extra 2% cash back on your entire purchase.

Target and Walmart

Last but not least, I like to checkout Target and Walmart for Cricut blanks. I always check the Target Dollar Spot when I first walk into the store. I have found some things like candle jars, planters, and even cutting boards that would make great gifts.

Keep an eye out for all of the clearance sections, especially after the holidays when things could be marked down to 90% off!

Check the shoe section for clearance markdowns, too! I found a cute pair of plain rainboots for my daughter that I can put a monogram on. They were only $5!

Those are my best places to buy affordable blanks for Cricut projects. Hopefully, this will give you a good place to start shopping for your next craft project.
