I was able to get everything for the Halloween crafts and decorations at my local Dollar Tree except the black paint and craft glue.
Other than that, everything only cost $1!!
When doing these DIY Dollar Tree Halloween decoration ideas, keep in mind that you can choose any colors of paint or ribbon that you want to use. Choose what goes with you color scheme and decor to really make it your own.
I have also included my Youtube video showing exactly how I made each Halloween decoration. You can see that below if you are more visual learner:
DIY Dollar Tree Halloween Decorations 2019
Pumpkin Topiary
To make this cute DIY Dollar Tree Halloween Decoration, you will need:
- 3 Styrofoam pumpkins
- letter stickers
- ribbon
- bamboo skewer
- black acrylic paint
- foam paint brush
Paint your Styrofoam pumpkins black with a foam paint brush. I let mine dry overnight. Make sure to paint the bottoms as well. You may have to do two coats of paint to make sure that it is completely covered.
Once the pumpkins are completely dry, take the bamboo skewer and use it to stack the pumpkins on top of each other.
Then take the craft glue and apply the ribbon around the sections between each pumpkin.
Apply the letter stickers with the saying of your choosing. You can do BOO, like I did, or Trick or Treat. It’s up to you. You can also use a stencil if you would prefer to paint the letters.

DIY Halloween Bouquet
For this super easy DIY Dollar Tree Halloween decoration, you will need:
- vase
- 3 black flower stems
- bouquet branch
- pumpkin picks
- craft glue
- ribbon
The only thing that didn’t come from the Dollar Tree is the craft glue. I was able to get everything else at the dollar store, even the vase.
To begin, glue the ribbon at the bottom of the vase and wrap it around the vase, gluing sections as you go. You can do any kind of design you like. I was going for more of a “mummy wrap” look.
After the ribbon is glued to the vase, you can begin making the Halloween bouquet in the design that you like. The Dollar Tree had other kinds of picks you could use: purple pumpkins and witch’s hats.
It only cost $7 for me to make this fun Halloween bouquet.
Halloween Banister Decorations
The third thing I wanted to decorate for Halloween was my stair banisters.
We recently moved into a two story house and this is the first year I will be able to decorate banisters for the holidays!
I just took a spool of ribbon and a fun Halloween pumpkin garland for each side and wrapped it around. I then took two wooden signs that I found at the Dollar Tree and tied them around the front knobs with some thin gold ribbon I had left over from last year.
I did that to both sides of the stairs and it only cost $6 to decorate both banisters! My little girl loves how they look now!
Those are the only new Halloween decorations that I will be buying this year. I will also be decorating the rest of the house with items I have purchased over the years.
By doing some DIY Dolllar Tree Halloween decoration ideas, you can easily add to your Halloween decor even if you are on a tight budget. They have so much cute stuff this year.
Make sure to check out my Dollar Tree shop with me video to see all of the decorations that they carry for 2019.
