Tips to Stay Organized
The homework assignments, permission slips, PTO meetings, etc. can all start to pile up quickly. Make sure as soon as you find out about a due date or meeting that you write it down. Use the calendar on your phone or in a good old fashioned planner.
You can even hang a schedule board so that everyone is on the same page for the next month. Use a different color marker for each child’s appointments. This will make it easier for them to see what they have going on.
I personally like to use a planner like these but do what works best for you.
Have a designated folder or small bin where the kids can put their papers to be signed. Get them into the habit of placing them in the folder as soon as they get home from school. You can even have a separate one for each child.
To help keep the yearly planning to a minimum, try to schedule everyone’s yearly medical appointments in the same two month time period. Preferably during the summer months while the kids are out of school.
This makes it so you don’t have to keep track of them throughout the entire year, freeing up more space in your calendar.
Delegate
It can be hard to hand off certain tasks. It is so important to delegate certain chores and jobs around the house to keep you from burning out.
Not only will this help you in the long run but it teaches your kids how to be more responsible and self-reliant. Choose some age appropriate chores that they can start doing to make your mornings go smoother.
Have them pick out their clothes the night before. They can pack their own lunch or at least choose what they want to have for lunch that week.
Doing the dishes and picking up after themselves will really help everyone’s day run smoother.

Meal Planning is Key
Meal plan for the week to save you time and stress on busy nights. This doesn’t mean you have to make everything for the week on Sunday but at least have a menu in mind.
Keep in mind busy nights when you may need to grab a pizza or have an easy slow cooker meal you can throw together in the morning.
There is nothing wrong with having some quick breakfast and lunch items on hand for when you are running late. Stock up on some Eggos, Lunchables, or PopTarts for busy mornings.
Have the kids help make their own lunches as well. Even the young ones can help you put crackers or chips in a bag or grab their juice or water cup.
Don’t forget to use these kitchen shortcuts to help you spend less time in the kitchen tonight!
Take Time for You
With all of the craziness, it may be hard to take some time out just for yourself. You know that it is important to take a little time for self care to help you be the best mom you can be.
We don’t all have time for a full spa day so I like using these 10 minute self care ideas to help get my mind in order.
Taking care of your physical health is important, too. We want to be around for a long time for our kids. There are many different ways to get healthy even when you’re crazy busy.
My personal favorite is to do at home workouts. It saves me so much time to just do them at home instead of driving to the gym. There are several workout programs that are only 20-30 minutes long.
I use the Beachbody on Demand programs and they have been really effective. They have something for every fitness level and time commitment.
I am going to miss my little girl during the day but I am also thrilled that I will be getting some extra time during the day to work on growing my business.
Use these back to school hacks for busy moms to keep you on track and have a happy new school year.
