As a stay at home mom, I rarely have the time to relax. It is so important to remember to take care of ourselves each day so we can be better parents.

I try to take a little time for myself with a relaxing bath using some DIY spa treatments. You can use these recipes in the morning or at night.

It’s so easy to whip up a batch to have on hand. Keep them in the fridge to make them last as long as possible.

Here are my favorite DIY spa treatment recipes that will help you unwind and refresh your skin. Grab a stress reducing scented candle. Set up your”spa” playlist on Spotify and enjoy!

Recipes for DIY Spa Treatments

Hydrating Face Mask

When using anything on your skin, make sure the area is clean for maximum results.

For a hydrating face mask, combine in a blender:

  • 1/2 ripe avocado
  • 1 egg
  • 1 Tbs. plain yogurt
  • 1 Tsp. of baking soda
  • 1 Tsp. of honey

Combine until smooth and apply to your skin. Leave the mask on for 10 minutes and then rinse clean.

Brightening Face Mask

In a blender, combine:

  • 1/2 cup chopped cranberries
  • 1/2 cup seedless grapes
  • 1 Tsp. lemon juice
  • 1/2 package of gelatin

Refrigerate for 30 minutes to set and then smooth all over your face. Leave the mask on for 10 minutes and wash off.

Exfoliating Lip Treatment

This is one of my favorite DIY spa treatments. I make this DIY brown sugar lip scrub to keep my lips soft and smooth.

All you need is brown sugar, honey, and coconut oil. You can flavor it anyway that you would like.

At Home Spa Day Recipes

DIY Body Scrub

Mix 1 Tbs. each of sunflower oil and fresh rosemary leaves in a bowl. Add 3 drops of peppermint essential oil. Slowly stir in 1/2 cup stone ground cornmeal until a paste forms. Rub all over damp skin from the neck down in the shower and rinse off.

Tea Bath

For a DIY calming bath, make a tub tea. Steep 4 chamomile tea bags in 1 cup of hot water for five minutes. Use a spoon to push the bags on the side to extract more chamomile. Pour the tea into a bathtub full of water and mix.

DIY Hand Treatment

In a small bowl, mix:

  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 milk
  • 2 Tbs. olive oil

Rub onto hands for 3 minutes and then rinse off. Check out these other 9 ways to Age-Proof your Hands.

Hair Treatment

Blend the following:

  • 1 banana
  • 1 cup mashed avocado
  • 2 Tbs. coconut oil

Distribute on clean, wet hair in the shower. Leave on for 10 minutes and then rinse.

Foot Soak

Pour 2 cups of Epsom salt under warm running water into a basin to dissolve. Mix in a few drops of your favorite essential oils and then soak your feet.

Eye Refresher

This is probably the easiest DIY spa treatment! Place cucumber slices over closed eyes for 15 minutes. This will cool and de-puff your eyes.

Cucumbers have a high water content and are anti-inflammatory.

I know there are a lot of DIY spa treatments out there but these are my personal favorite. Use them for a girl’s night or for whenever you feel like to need to take some time for yourself.
