Tension Rod Organization: Genius Ways to Upgrade your Home

I love tension rod organization ideas as an affordable way to declutter my home. You can easily upgrade your home with a tension rod; it is so versatile and really inexpensive.

It seems like getting all of the fancy organizers to get your house in order can be really expensive! I like being able to use budget friendly items and still get the same results.

I use tension rod organization in every room of my house. They are around $5 or less so they are very budget friendly. You can even get them in different finishes to match your decor.

We all know that you can use them to hang cleaning supplies in your laundry room or under your sink but I wanted to share some other tension rod organization ideas that you may not have thought of before.

Organize the Freezer: I love how you can get more freezer space by hanging a tension rod and using hooks to hang bags to keep everything organized and take up less space. You can see exactly how they did it here.

Window Herb Garden: Not everyone may have a ledge or extra counter space to grow an herb garden. You can actually hang one from a tension rod! Get the tutorial here.

Shoe Storage: Don’t have enough space for your shoe collection? Just hang some tension rods between a small space and you have an instant shoe rack. See how they did it here.

Corral Pot Lids: I love how this blogger used a tension rod to keep her pot lids organized and out of the way. This is also a great way to organize cookie sheets as well.

How to Organize with a Tension Rod

Ribbon Storage: I usually have so much ribbon left over from the holidays and I never know where to store it. This is a genius way of keeping everything together to use year round. See the tutorial here.

Hang Jewelry: I never have enough room for my jewelry. You can use a tension rod to hang necklaces and bracelets without them getting all tangled. photo credit.

Create a Filing Cabinet: If you don’t want an ugly filling cabinet taking up space you can create one with an empty dresser drawer. Just hang two tension rods on the inside of the drawer and you can hang filing folders to keep your documents in order.

Store Wrapping Paper: To keep your wrapping paper neat and in one piece, hang a tension rod against a wall so you can easily slide in the wrapping paper between the rod and the wall. This will hold the paper upright and out of the way.

Room Divider: You can create a room divider by hanging a drapery from a tension rod wherever you need it in the room. No hole drilling required.
