I love when I can get more for less money. I mean, doesn’t everybody? You work hard for your paycheck so make sure you get as much as you can when you decide to spend it.
As a stay at home mom, I know how important it is to stretch your dollar. I have spent a lot of time coming up with different ways to get more for less when I go shopping in the stores as well as online.
I wanted to share the tips and tricks that I use everyday to stretch my family’s budget as long as I can.
Get the Right Credit Card for You
You know your spending habits and that can help you chose the right credit card to get some pretty amazing perks that you will actually use.
If you don’t pay off your credit card bills every month, look for a card with a low interest rate instead of perks, the interest you pay could cancel out any freebies or perks that you may earn.
If you have a dream trip in mind or you travel regularly, use a credit card that has a travel based rewards program. When you compare cards, look for sign up bonus, perks, and spending conditions.
If you don’t travel, a cash back card will be better for you. If you spend most of your money on groceries, gas, and restaurants, look at cards with bonus categories where you will earn double or triple the usual percentage.
If your spending is spread out, look for a card that has the highest percentage cash back with the lowest annual fee.
Get CashBack When you Shop
One of the easiest ways I get more for less money is by using cashback sites and money saving apps. They are free and so easy to use. I’ve gotten as much as 30% back on my purchase just by shopping through these apps.
You can check out my favorite money saving apps and cashback sites to see which ones I use every single day to get as much money back in my pocket on my everyday spending.
Coupon Stacking
I love using coupons to save the most money on my grocery shopping. I know it isn’t for everybody but if you learn how to stack coupons you can save 50% or more off of your grocery bill!
It is really the ultimate savings hack that I use to save the most.

Birthday Freebies
I love getting free stuff on my birthday! I’ve gotten things like free food, coffee, clothes, makeup and more. All you have to do is sign up for a company’s loyalty program or email and they will send you a coupon or freebie on your birthday month/week.
You can check out this full list of birthday freebies and start signing up! You may want to use a second email account so you don’t get bombarded with coupons and promotional emails.
Loyalty Programs
Remember the punch cards restaurants use to give out? Well, those have turned into digital reward and loyalty programs. Places like Dunkin Donuts and Starbucks have apps and payment cards where you can earn points to redeem for free food or coffee.
Some beauty salons, gyms, and even bakeries now offer perks for being a loyal customer. Sign up for your favorite store’s loyalty programs to really get more for less money. They don’t cost anything so it’s really a no brainer!
Use Dealspotr
I like using Dealspotr to find the best promo and coupon codes to use online. All of their codes have been verified so you won’t waste your time entering codes that have expired or don’t work.
Even better, you can earn points to redeem for gift cards when you post a deal that you have found so that others can save on their purchases, too!
You can read my full Dealspotr review to learn more about the program.
Shop but Don’t Buy
One of my favorite way to score a deal or even free shipping on a purchase when I can’t find a coupon code, is to shop around on a store’s site and put things in my shopping bag but don’t purchase anything. If you leave something in your cart, you will usually get an email saying, ” hey, you forgot something in your cart, here is a free shipping code to help with your purchase”.
It doesn’t work 100% of the time, but it does work most of the time. It’s one of my secret hacks to help save on every purchase!
Know When to Buy
Knowing when to buy is another great way to get more for less money. You should get workout equipment in January when stores have them at their lowest price.
Travel during the off season to save on hotels and airfare. Go to the farmer’s market an hour before it closes to get the best deals on fresh produce. The list goes on and on.
You can even check out the best time of day to buy certain items to get them at their lowest price!
