You may already know but this year I decided to take better care of myself and that started with working out and exercising more. I have been keeping up with my Beachbody workouts and I have been seeing some great results!

I tried the 21 Day Fix fitness program and I honestly didn’t really know what to expect from it when I started. I thought that it was going to be some mundane workouts that I would get bored with very easily. I thought it is only 21 days, so I should be able to stick with it!
21 Day Fix is a taught by Autumn Calabrese. She is a bikini competitor and is in amazing shape! I like her teaching style; she doesn’t yell at the camera and isn’t really perky which can be annoying!
I did the program using my Beachbody on Demand subscription. If you haven’t gotten you subscription yet, you can get a free 30 day trial to try out all of the Beachbody workouts, including 21 Day Fix, for yourself.

I will be honest and say that I didn’t do the nutrition part of the program, I just did the workouts. I still saw good results by just doing the workouts but if you are really wanting to see a drastic change in your body, you should really follow the nutrition program that she put together.
I didn’t do it because the Beachbody on Demand doesn’t include the nutrition containers, you have to buy them separately. If you buy just the 21 Day Fix program by itself, it will include the containers.
What I Liked About 21 Day Fix
This was a really easy workout program to stick to. It is only 3 weeks long and the workouts are only 30 minutes each!
There are modified versions of every workout that you can do if you are a beginner. You can also work your way up to an advanced level by adding heavier weights.
This really is a workout for everyone: beginners to advanced, women and men. All fitness levels can do this.
You don’t need any expensive equipment, you only need a set of hand weights and maybe a yoga mat. I started out using 5 lb weights but I really like this hand weight set because you can increase the weights as you get better at the workout.
There are different varieties of workouts. I like that one day you will do a leg workout, the next you will do yoga, the next pilates, etc. It makes it so you don’t get bored, which is something that I struggle with in sticking to a workout routine.
What I Didn’t Like
The majority of the 21 Day Fix workouts, I actually enjoyed doing. There were 2 workout moves that I just couldn’t do. I have very bad knees (I’ve had surgery on one) so the moves were just too painful for me to do. I ended up just running in place while they did these particular moves.
Most of the workouts are low impact but there are a couple that you may have to modify if you have bad joints.
At the beginning of the 30 minute workout, Autumn will tell you how many different moves there will be. At the end there may be a few extra minutes so she will say that you are going to do a “bonus workout move”.
At the end I am so tired that I get a little mad that she adds a bonus, I know this shouldn’t bother me but it does. I wish she would just say we are going to do 6 different moves at the beginning instead of just saying 5 and then throwing a bonus move in there at the end.
My Results
Before I post my results I want to reiterate that I have been working out since January so I wasn’t expecting to see big results from this workout program.
I wasn’t overweight to begin with so most of the weight that I was going to lose, has already been lost. I am using the 21 Day Fix program to keep the results that I’ve gotten and to continue to tone up.
Before:
- Hips: 38.5″
- Waist: 30″
- Thighs: 20″
- Weight: 149lbs.
After:
- Hips: 37.5″
- Waist: 29.5″
- Thighs: 21″
- Weight 147lbs.
I was really surprised that I lost this much off of my hips and waist. I know that if I had incorporated the nutrition plan, I would have seen even better results. I gained an inch in my thigh due to more muscle. My thighs are more firm and my pants actually fit a lot better!
With each Beachbody workout program I have tried, I continue to lose weight. That is the best motivation to keep going. I have so much more energy and I just feel better about myself!
I really liked 21 Day Fix and I think you will see some great results if you stick with it. You can actually see what the workouts are like by watching some example videos.
The next workout I have decided to do is Cize. Come back in about a month to see my results from that workout program!
