I have been sticking to my workout plan since January and I couldn’t be happier! I wanted to do a PiYo workout review so that you can see how this amazing workout program has helped me stick to my goals and help me achieve the body I want.

I have already done a Hip Hop Abs review since that was the first workout program that I did to start getting back in shape. I thought that was a great program and I stuck with it for 30 days and saw great results. I wanted to start something new so I went with PiYo.
You can check out all of my other Beachbody Workout Reviews to see which on might work best for you.
I had heard some great things about it and it seemed like a perfect next step to help build my strength and endurance.
I will be honest, I’m not a big fan of yoga. I like moving around a lot in my workouts to feel like I am getting the best results. PiYo takes the best aspects of yoga and pilates and combines them into one workout to give you the body you want.
What is PiYo?
PiYo is a Beachbody workout program taught by Chalene Johnson. It is a low impact workout that lasts for 60 days. The program helps build strength, flexibility, and helps sculpt your body using your own body weight.
Most of the workouts last 30 minutes but some are 25 and 45 minutes.
You don’t have to use any equipment but I would recommend using a yoga mat if you have hard floors.
I absolutely loved this workout because it pushed me to really work without being painful on my knees and joints. I have a bad knee so that was very important to me. It just shows how you can get an amazing workout without having to beat up your body.
Who is PiYo for?
PiYo is for all fitness levels and ages. I love that everyone who was in the workout videos were over 40. They were in great shape but it just shows that everyone can be fit at any age.
I think that this workout is great for beginner and intermediate fitness levels. If you workout all the time, you may not think this is challenging enough.
They do have a person that shows the modification for each exercise so you can work your way up from the modifier to the advanced version.
This is a low impact workout. There isn’t a lot of jumping and running so this is great if you want something that is easy on your joints.
How Much Does it Cost?
You can purchase the PiYo workout for less than $60 from Beachbody. It does come with a 60 day money back guarantee.
I personally bought the Beachbody on Demand subscription for $99. It gives me access to all of the Beachbody workout programs for an entire year.
I have already done 2 workout programs and I am starting my third so I have gotten my money’s worth out of it and it is only May.
They actually offer a free 30 day trial for the Beachbody on Demand so you can see all that they have to offer.
My Results and Thoughts
I really enjoyed this workout. I completed the 60 days but I think I will be doing this workout again in the future.
I saw a dramatic change to my strength and flexibility at the end of the workout program. I was barely able to hold a plank for a few seconds at the beginning of the program and now I can hold one for about a minute before I start shaking!
I have muscle in my arms that I didn’t have before. I can actualy see my triceps and biceps. I have definition in my abs and my legs are toned.
PiYo has given me the confidence that I was striving for. I am looking forward to going to the pool and wearing a swimsuit this year. I never would have said that last year!
I wanted to show you some before and after photos so you can see how my body has changed with PiYo.
I don’t like getting obsessed with pounds on the scale so I don’t weigh myself. I focus more on inches lost and how my clothes fit.
My measurements were:
Before After
- Waist: 28″ 28″
- Hips: 37″ 36.5″
- Thighs: 22″ 22″
I didn’t lose a lot of inches but I can tell that my muscles have really toned up and I do look a bit leaner.
I will be honest and say that I did not follow the nutrition plan that comes with the program. I’m not big on diets. I try to eat healthy and eat in moderation.
I know that if I had followed the plan that I would have seen even better results but I am trying to make changes that I know I will stick with for a long times, and dieting isn’t one of them.
I really love Chalene Johnson’s personality. She was very encouraging without being annoying. I love the fact that she would remind you to be grateful that you get the opportunity to workout. It is so important to just stop and appreciate being alive, it really made me pumped to do my workout because I know that I am doing something good for myself.
I highly recommend trying the PiYo workout program. If you put in the work and stick with it, you will see results. You have to remember to push yourself because you only get out of it what you put into it.
Next, I will be trying out the T25 program. I am excited to see if I am ready for it and how the results will be from that workout program. It is a 90 day program so make sure to come back to see my review of that in 3 months!

I think it should be fine for you. It is very low impact, especially if you stick to the modifier version. You can check out the PiYo homepage and they show some video of a few of the moves so that you can get a better idea.
