I love trying new makeup trends to see what looks good on me. But I’ll be honest, it takes a lot of time trying out those looks and a lot of money buying new products.
I want to save money on makeup, I hate when something doesn’t turn out the way I wanted it to and I’ve wasted time and money on beauty items. I found 5 beauty apps that I am loving right now. Warning…they can be addictive!
There are a lot of beauty apps out there but these are my favorites. I love how far technology has come that we can virtually try on makeup to see how it looks on us. I think it is so cool!
These beauty apps can save you a ton of time because you won’t be putting together a look that just won’t work for you and you won’t spend money on products that will just sit in your bathroom drawer. Plus, they are just a lot of fun to play around with!
The best part is that all of these are free!
Olay Skin Advisor
This actually isn’t an app, but a website that can only be used on your phone. You simply take a makeup-free selfie or upload a photo and answer a few questions about your biggest skin concerns and what products you are using.
The Olay Skin Advisor will assess your complexion and tell you where your problem areas are. It will give you a full anti-aging regimen of Olay products that you can start using. After you have been using the products, take another selfie to see if they are working.
Sally Hansen Mani Match
Have you ever bought a bottle of nail polish just to find out that the color looked horrible with your skin tone? Yeah, I’ve done it too. That is why I love the Sally Hansen Mani Match.
You simply take a photo of your hand, preferably in front of a white sheet of paper, and it gives you the best Sally Hansen shade for you. You can scroll through all of their shades and see how they look on your hand. You can buy the polish directly from the app.
If you are in a store, simply scan the barcode of the color and it will show you how it will look on you. Don’t waste money on nail polish again!
Youcam Makeup
This app is so cool! If you are scared to try a new look, be it makeup or hair, you can see how it would look on you with the Youcam Makeup app.
Just take a selfie and you can try out a ton of beauty looks. See how you will look with a bold red lip, pixie cut, blonde hair, etc. You can choose individual products or try on whole looks that are already made.
This will save you a ton of time from trying new trends or getting a hair cut that just isn’t for you. I love how realistic the app is but beware that you may spend a lot of time just playing around with all of the looks. It’s fun and addictive!
Rimmel Get the Look
Have you flipped through a magazine and wondered what kind of makeup the model is wearing? The Rimmel Get the Look app will find it for you, or at least something very similar.
You simply snap a picture of a makeup look in a magazine or even on your best friend. It will find the color matching Rimmel cosmetics and let you see how they look on your face in real time. You can even move your face around to see how it looks from different angles.
You can also try out already made looks or watch some tutorials. You can even purchase the products from the app, it takes you to Amazon.
Plum Perfect
This is probably my favorite app. You simply take a selfie and Plum Perfect analyzes your skin tone, hair color, and eye color to come up with your Color Signature.
It takes your Color Signature and gives you the perfect color makeup options for you. You can choose different categories like lipstick, eye liner, etc. Or by look: glam, office, or natural.
You can even watch makeup tutorials and they will tell you what exact shade you should use when you try to do the look yourself. This does cost $1.99/month if you want to do the tutorials.
You can also purchase samples of the makeup that they recommend, which are usually around $2. It’s a great way to try something before making a commitment and wasting money on makeup that may not work.
All of these are really neat and I hope you find one that you love. Have you used these beauty apps before? What are some others that you love?
