I love decorating for Christmas! It is one of my favorite things to do and a great way to make new family traditions. I found some amazing DIY Christmas decor ideas that I can’t wait to try this year.
These can make your home look so much more festive and still let you save money for your holiday shopping!

I tried to put together a list that would be full of frugal DIY Christmas decor ideas for you. Most of these are very cheap to make, some are a little more expensive, but they are all a lot cheaper to make then they would be to buy.
Just use your frugal skills and hunt for sales and clearance items to really make these DIY Christmas decor ideas great for your budget.
DIY Christmas Decor Ideas
I love this idea to turn an old wood pallet, that you can grab from the hardware store for really cheap, and turning it into a cute Christmas tree.
All you need is some green craft paint and Christmas lights to decorate. You can add a bow, little ornaments, or even glitter snow. You can see the tutorial here.

I really like this! These snowflakes are made out of popsicle sticks and glue. Just grab a glue gun and start crafting. You can even get some glitter spray paint in red, gold, or silver to really make them pop.

I love these mason jar candle holders. They are very cheap to make and would look great on the mantle. You just need little pinecones, mason jars, snow texture paint, and some twine to give it that wintry look.

This is probably my favorite DIY Christmas decor idea on this list. I really love the look of this mirror, it’s very classy. Try to find a mirror that’s on clearance somewhere like Target or Walmart.

I love the idea of using family photos in your decor. You can get some block letters and red craft paint at your local craft store. You can have it say Noel, Joy, Happy Holidays, etc.

More Homemade Christmas Decoration Ideas
If you don’t want to hang a wreath, you can make this sign for your door. You can purchase the kit for only $25 and it comes with everything you need to make it. This also makes it easier since you won’t have to run to the store trying to find everything you need.
I love these Township Candle jars. They have a very old world feel to them. You can decorate them in any colors you want. She offers a template and a full tutorial here.
I think this reindeer canvas would look very elegant hanging above the mantle. You can use any color of glitter you want but I think gold or silver would look the best. Just grab some blank canvas, glitter, glue, and a cut out and you should be good to go. Get the full tutorial here.

This is probably the most expensive of the DIY Christmas Decor Ideas on the list to make because you have to buy several pieces of wood. If you already have wood, then you are all set.

I think these would be so cute out on the table. You can use all sorts of different woodland animals or even little snowmen. You should be able to find things like that at your local craft store. Just use the salt for the snow. You can get the tutorial here.
