I thought it would be a perfect time to share my moneys saving hacks since the holiday season is quickly approaching. I know that not everyone has time to search for coupon codes, promotions, and free shipping options so if you want to get your shopping over with and still save money, use these 2 tricks.
Use Ebates
This is really a no brainer but you will be surprised at how many people don’t use Ebates when they shop online. It is so simple to use and you get cash back at over 2,000 of the most popular online stores. All you do is sign up for free and you will get a $10 cash bonus just for creating an account.
Then you simply find which store you want to make your purchases and click on the link to be taken to their site. It’s really that simple. The cash back ranges from 1% all the way up to 40%. That is in addition to any other coupon savings you use on the store’s website.
Ebates even offers in-store cash back on select retailers and they are offering cash bonuses for certain stores in addition to the cash back you get. For example I saw get $5 on a $25 Belk purchase and a $10 bonus when you spend $100 at Talbots.
Plus, you can search for a certain store and Ebates will pull up all of the available coupon codes you can use at that particular site. You don’t have to do any extra searching for deals or promos. It’s all right in one spot.
If you are going to be doing a lot of online shopping, make sure you install the Ebates button to your browser. When you are shopping online, it will remind you how much cash back you could be earning. All you have to do is just click the button and continue shopping. You will have no reason to forget.
Add Things to your Cart
Now this is another trick I like to use to save myself some extra money. If you can’t find any good coupon codes or promotions but you still want to purchase something, add it to your cart and then leave the site. If the site has an email list you can sign up for, do that before you leave.
This does take some patience but it is worth it. A couple days later you will probably receive an email reminding you that you have items in your cart. Nine times out of ten, they will also include a coupon code for you to use. It is usually for 15-20% off.
If they don’t send you one in the first email, wait until the next one arrives to see if they will offer you a discount then. They usually at least offer free shipping.
I find that this usually works for stores that don’t normally offer coupon codes and every time I try this, it has almost always worked. Stores want your business and they will do what they can to keep it.
Once you get an email with a coupon code then go to Ebates first and make sure you click the link to get your cash back and then finish your shopping.
By doing just these two things, I have saved on almost every single online purchase I make. They are so simple to use and they don’t take a lot of effort on your part.
Use these hacks to help you really save on your holiday online purchases this year!
