Potty training can be an intimidating and daunting time for both parents and toddlers. There are some ways you can make it fun and get your child excited about potty training. This will help them be more inclined to participate when the time comes. Keep in mind that every child and experience is different so just find what works for you.
This post and giveaway were made possible by iConnect and Pampers Easy Ups. I was compensated for my participation in this campaign, but all opinions are 100% mine.
Let them go Potty Training Shopping
One of the ways I was able to get my daughter excited about starting potty training was to take her shopping and let her pick out all of the potty training gear. I let her pick out what kind of potty seat she wanted, Minnie Mouse of course!
I let her pick the color of potty stool she wanted and we even got a pack of underwear so that she could see that once she was potty trained, she would get to wear her new Anna and Elsa panties. It gave her something to look forward to.
Watch Favorite Characters use the Potty
I purchased some potty training stories that featured her favorite characters like, Elmo and Daniel Tiger. We would sit and watch the Daniel Tiger potty episode and we would talk about her doing the same thing while we watched. Once she saw that they were doing it too, she was more inclined to try it herself.
Let them Choose a Potty Prize
Since my daughter loves stickers, I figured she could get a sticker every time she tried to use the potty. She chose some Princess Sofia stickers that she was really excited about. She knows that she only gets them when she tries to use the potty. If your treat will be candy, let them chose which flavor or kind they would like.
Kick off Potty Training with a Surprise
Pampers was kind enough to send us a potty training surprise in the mail to help get her excited about starting. This is a great idea to help make it more fun. You can check out her reaction in the video below.
They sent us the new Pampers Easy Ups that were released in August 2016. We have been using the Easy Ups already but these are really new and improved.
I love how stretchy the sides are because it makes pulling them up and down a lot easier for her. The fabric is a lot softer and more like cotton than the previous version. They really look and feel more like real underwear. This makes the transition from diapers to underwear so much easier for us.
The designs are adorable. They feature Dora the Explorer for girls and Thomas the Train for boys. Being the Pampers brand that I love they also have Extra Absorb Channels, helping to keep toddlers dry during the day AND night as well as dual Leak-Guard Barriers around the legs prevent the leaks that can happen when they are on the move.
To help your little one get excited about potty training, really “underwear training”, Pampers is offering a giveaway for one of my readers. You will have the chance to win a $50 AMEX gift card and a pack of the new Pampers Easy Ups.
This will be a quick giveaway and will end on 9/29/16. This is open to US residents only.
