Simple Time Savers for Busy Moms
Care.com
I really like the concept of Care.com. They offer services like babysitting, elderly care, pet sitting, tutoring, and even housekeeping! The best part about the site is that they do 3 tiers of background checks for everyone that you can hire on their site.
I know that hiring someone to come clean my house, even just once or twice a month, would really take a lot off of my plate. It seems that the average cost is $10-$20/hr which seems fair.
On Care.com you can see the profile of someone you might want to hire. It includes their age, bio, hourly rate, and years of experience. You can read reviews from others that have hired them.
I am not opposed to hiring someone to watch my child for an hour or two so that I can run errands or do my grocery shopping. I can get so much more done when I don’t have a 2 year old with me.
Just trying to prevent a meltdown in the middle of the grocery store can get time consuming!
Meal Planning
I could save so much money and time by meal planning. I find it daunting and time consuming just coming up with a meal plan that I never sit down to do one.
$5 Meal Plan does all the planning for you! For only $5/month, you get a weekly meal plan sent to you every Sunday. You can get your shopping list together, go to the store once, and have every meal planned for that entire week!
Every meal will only be $2 per person, and sometimes less! Think of all the money you will save by not getting takeout 2-3 nights a week. Not to mention, it is a lot healthier for your whole family.
You can get a free 14 day trial so that you can see what $5 meal plan offers.
Emeals is another great meal planning site that can actually send the groceries straight to your door. You can also get a free 14 day trial to see how you like their service.
Time Saving Tips for Parents
Subscribe & Save
Have you ever run out of diapers, toilet paper, or your child’s favorite snack when you needed them the most? I have and it can be so frustrating to have to run to the store right that minute!
I really like the Subscribe & Save options that places like Amazon and Target offer. You can get household essentials like diapers, groceries, paper goods, and more delivered to you every month, or 2, or 3, etc.
Not only does this save you time and the frustration of running out but you also get discounts when you do a subscribe & save option. Amazon offers free 1 day shipping on purchases over $35 for Amazon Prime members.
What I also like about Amazon is that they even offer coupons on some of the subscribe & save items so you can save even more!
With Target, you will save 5% and get free shipping on every order. Plus, if you use your Redcard you will save another 5%!
With both Amazon and Target you can skip months, change subscriptions, and even cancel subscriptions at anytime.
Saving money and time is right up my alley! This is such a huge time savers for busy moms, especially those with newborns. We know how hard it is to get out of the house during that stage.
ABCMouse.com
There are times during the day where I have to get things done for work or company is coming over. I might need a half hour to clean. I have to find ways to keep my toddler entertained so I can get some things done.
I don’t just like sitting her in front of the TV (although sometimes it happens). I prefer that she play with her toys or do something where she is learning.
I was very happy when I got her ABCMouse.com. It is great! It is for kids ages 2-7 and it helps them learn all kinds of subjects like: science, math, reading, art, and colors.
My daughter loves the coloring games and the songs. I really like that she is learning all of her colors and letters already!
They even have stories that are read out loud to the children. This is great for when I just can’t read to her right that second (she does get a nightly story every single day).
This is a way for her to stay entertained for a few minutes but also learning at the same time. It has prevented many meltdowns in my house!
You can start a free 30 day trial of ABCMouse.com to see if your child will like it as much as mine did.
Skip the Gym
Don’t stop working out, just save some time by not going to the gym. I didn’t exercise because I thought I didn’t have the time to do it.
Just getting dressed for the gym, driving there, and driving back was an hour (if not more). That didn’t even include working out!
I found that I save time and exercise more by doing my workouts at home. I do them when my daughter is napping or after she has gone to bed. I am not a morning person!
Set up a home gym on a budget with a few essentials and workout programs. I really like the Beachbody on Demand videos. They have over 400 videos like P90X, Insanity, Brazil Butt Lift, TurboFire, and more.
It’s one of my favorite time savers for busy moms that want to be as healthy as they can be.
I like that they have so many videos because I can mix it up to keep from getting bored with my workouts. The membership is only $2.99/week which is a lot cheaper than a gym membership!
You can get a free 30 day trial to try out Beachbody on Demand and see if it will save you time and get you pumped to workout!
You can see my results from all of my Beachbody Workout Reviews.
Shortcuts for Busy Moms
Full Meals Sent to your Door
If you don’t have time for meal planning or shopping but you still want to skip the take out and eat healthy, try a meal subscription box.
I really like Hello Fresh. They send all the ingredients you will need to make a high quality, healthy meal for your family along with the easy to follow recipe cards.
There are 3 box options: Classic (feeds 2-4 adults), Veggie (feeds 2-4 adults), and Family (feeds 2 adults and 2 kids).
I don’t recommend using a meal subscription box every night because that could get pricey but using it a few times a month could really help take the load off of mom or dad.
If you haven’t tried Hello Fresh before, you can get $35 off your first box and free shipping so that you can see how delicious and healthy their recipes are.
Have Others Run your Errands
I would love to have a personal assistant to run my errands and do my shopping, but I’m not a celebrity so I will keep dreaming.
For normal people like me, there is TaskRabbit. You can actually hire people to do things like running your errands, putting together furniture, walking your dog, cleaning your house, handy man work, etc.
All of the Taskers are given background checks and have ratings so you can choose which one you want to hire.
You choose the task you need done, pick the Tasker you want to hire, and book everything through the app. You can even chat with the Tasker, see arrival times, and even pay through the app.
This is a really awesome way to get mundane tasks taken care of without having to spend all day doing it yourself.

I hope that by using some of these time savers for busy moms you can spend more quality time with your family or just get a little extra “me time”.
We all need some of that! What are some ways you are productive?

Oooh…love this list! I do some of these already & you have given me additional ideas! If there is anything I need right now it is more time…whew! Care.com is awesome for so many things! I just hired a lovely woman to come & weed my rock garden a few weekends ago. $50 for 4 hours of work…not bad!
