20 Halloween Games for Kids

August 23, 2016 by hewella1 Leave a Comment

Halloween is such a fun time, especially for kids! I found some great Halloween games for kids that would be great for parties or just doing together as a family. Most of these are DIY and some even offer free printables, which is great if you are trying to throw a frugal Halloween party.

pumpkin toss

This Pumpkin Toss Game from Better Homes and Gardens is so cute! It would be great for indoor or outdoor use so if it is cold one night, just bring it inside. All you need are a few supplies that you probably already have around the house. Amazon offers an affordable craft knife to make cutting the shapes a lot easier.

spider races

I love the spider races idea! It is so easy and would be perfect for toddlers. This could keep them busy for hours! You can find some cheap spiders for the game online or at the dollar store.

pumpkin memory game

The Pumpkin Memory Game is a great frugal Halloween game. All you need are some paper plates, construction paper, and tape!

pin the eye on the monster

I saw this idea for Pin the Eye on the Monster from this monster themed birthday party. It’s so cute! She doesn’t have any instructions but I think all you would need is some construction paper, tape, and a poster board.

spider web walking

Check out the Spider Web Walking game if you have a toddler. It will really help with their motor skills and listening to directions. There is even a cute song to go along with it.

potions class

You know I love Harry Potter so I freaked out when I saw this Harry Potter party post! I loved the Potions Class game where kids can mix together their own potions. You can use this for Halloween, just call it a witch’s potion. Amazon has a 12 pack of the little cauldrons for less than $7!

skeleton scavenger hunt

This Skeleton Scavenger Hunt is a fun way to get the kids playing outside. You can find skeletons at the Dollar store or here.

feed the monster

This Feed the Monster Game is probably my favorite out of this list. It just looks so fun and easy to put together. It would be great for a trunk or treat game.

obstacle course

If you are looking for a rainy day activity, check out how to put together an easy Halloween obstacle course for the kiddos.

pumpkin golf

Another great game for toddlers is this Pumpkin Golf idea. All you need is a pumpkin and a piece of cardboard. You can find a cheap putting set online.

twist n turn game

This Twist N Turn game is adorable. It will take some extra effort to make but it looks like the kids would love it. It’s basically Twister with a Halloween theme.

Find the Gummy Worm looks like it would be messy but hilarious. I know that the older kids would love it. You can read through the rest of the post for some other great Halloween ideas, too!

ghost bottle bowling

Ghost Bottle Bowling is another simple game to make. I love that the kids can actually help make this one, too. It’s also great for rainy days.

Halloween cornhole

I love this Halloween Cornhole game. It is something that even the adults will want to play. You could make this with a tabletop board or a big one to be used outside.

witch pitch

I think this Witch Pitch game is so cute! You could even get little prizes for whoever gets the most candy corn in the cauldrons.

shooter toys

You can make these Halloween Shooter toys and have a competition to see who can get theirs to go the farthest. They will probably have just as much fun making them.

spiderweb game

This Halloween Spiderweb Game will keep them entertained for hours. All you need is a hula hoop, tape, and cotton balls. It’s really simple and looks really fun.

halloween charades

For a fun party or family night game, check out these Halloween charades. You can even get a free printable to use.

I like this Pumpkin Hunt idea to get the kids outside. We hunt eggs on Easter so we should be hunting pumpkins for Halloween! I suggest using little craft pumpkins instead of the real ones just in case you forget where you hid them. You don’t want them rotting in the backyard.

H17

Finally, you can play this simple Witch’s Broom limbo. It makes a fun party game, see if the adults can do it! You can probably find a witch’s broom at a craft store or online.

What other fun Halloween games for kids do you do with your family? Do you have any fun traditions?
