This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Brita Universal Jug Cooler Filtration System. All opinions are 100% mine.
It will be a while until I am a sports mom or dance mom or whatever my daughter decides to get interested in. I have been through my fair share of sports practices and games with my brother and cousins growing up that I know what to expect. It can be fun but you have to be prepared to have an enjoyable experience. These are some sports mom tips to make your life easier.
Entertain Yourself
I know that watching your kid during practice the first few times is exciting but it will get old after a while and you will want to do something else during practice. You can bring a book or magazine to flip through. I know that a lot of my blogging friends will bring a laptop or tablet with them so that they can get some work done.
Stay Organized
You may want to invest in a good planner to keep all of the kids practices and game days in order. This is a must have if you have more then one kid involved in sports or extracurricular activities.
Get Comfortable
Make sure you have what you need to stay comfortable. This can be an outdoor folding chair, stadium cushion, etc. If it is during the summer, make sure to bring sunscreen and some kind of umbrella if there isn’t shade. If it is winter, bring a blanket, hand warmers, hats, etc. Snacks are always good to have on hand too!
Good Floor mats
If your kids are into soccer, football, lacrosse, any sport where they will get muddy, you might want to invest in some good heavy duty car floor mats. Get the ones that you can easily take out and just rinse off with a hose. It will save you a lot of headache.
Don’t Spend a Fortune on Equipment
If this is your child’s first year in a sport, I wouldn’t spend a lot on their equipment. They may not want to play again next year and be interested in something else. Stores like Target and Walmart are a great place to get some deals. You can always ask around to see if friends or family have equipment they don’t want or have outgrown.
Water, Water, Water
You can’t play sports without good hydration. Bring a lot of water for yourself and your kids to have. If you are bringing water for a lot of people, or even the whole team, you can bring a jug cooler and fill it with water instead of buying a whole bunch of bottled water.
The Brita Jug Filter fits into your favorite jug coolers. You can use water from the stadium or practice field if it is available and just filter it directly from your cooler! The system filters out chlorine taste and odor from typical tap water so you will get great tasting water every time!
I was sent the new Brita jug filter system to try out myself and it was very easy to put together. It will fit Coleman, Igloo and Rubbermaid jug coolers. It even comes with a sticker that you can put on your jug so you will be reminded of when to change the filter, you change it every 2 months. You can find the new Brita system on the Home Depot website. This is not only good for sports moms and teams but also for people who work outside like construction workers or handymen.
Since the new Brita jug filter system is the new hydration hero for your sports team, they are holding a contest to celebrate the unsung hero in your life. You can nominate your unsung hero via a photo submission on Be a Brita Hero and win some amazing prizes. Submissions will be narrowed down to the final four. The audience will vote and they will award a prize to the winning entry. Let us know if you enter!
I hope these sports mom tips make your life a lot easier. If you have anything you would like to add to the list, leave them in the comments below.
