Legit Ways to Get Free Children’s Books Every Month!

March 3, 2016 by hewella1 2 Comments

I am able to get my daughter free children’s books every month so that she always has something new to read. I don’t think you can ever have too many books!

I love to read and I have been a bookworm since I was 4 or 5 years old. I have instilled that love of books into my own daughter but buying new books can really add up. free children's books

There is always the option of going to your library and checking out books. I plan to do that when she is a little bit older and can really take care of the books.

At 2 years old, you never know when she might rip a page or get something sticky all over it. Until then, I use these programs to satisfy her love for books by getting free children’s books every month.

Free Children’s Books by Mail

Paperback Swap

This is a neat site where you can get new books and get rid of some old ones you no longer want laying around. You list books you’d like to swap with other club members.

Once a book is requested, mail it to the club member. In return, you may choose from any of the available books!

You pay postage for the books you send out; the books you receive come to you postage-paid. Books you request are yours to keep, or swap again! Kids love getting anything in the mail!

I love this book program. It is for kids ages birth-5 yrs. You get a free new book every month! We have received books like: “Mine-o-saurus” “The Little Engine that Could” and “The ABCers”.
This isn’t available in all areas so you can check if it is in your location. If you find your city, you simply register your child to see if you are eligible and you will start receiving a book every month until they are 5 years old!
Summer Reading Programs
If your child can read on their own, you may want to sign them up for a summer reading program. The one at Barnes and Noble will give them a free book from the Reading Journal List once they have read 8.
I have also heard that libraries and Pottery Barn Kids offer freebies for summer reading as well.
Free Sites
You can always check sites like Freecycle, Craigslist, or even garage sales for free children’s books. Your luck will always vary with these but it is a good place to look.

Free Children’s Books Online

I prefer that my daughter read an actual book instead of an ebook but you can check out the following sites below for even more free books if you want them for your children.

  • Free Kids Books
  • Barnes and Noble
  • Library of Congress
  • Amazon for Kindle
  • Read Conmigo
I really hope that I have instilled a true love of reading in my daughter. It just opens up their imagination and shows them that they can truly do anything.
Do you have other methods you use to get free or even cheap books for your children?
Parents, get free kids books by mail and online to make reading more fun for children of all ages. Learning has never been easier!
