DIY Wrinkle Releaser Spray

February 8, 2016 by hewella1 2 Comments

I hate ironing! I just do. I am so glad I learned how to make a DIY wrinkle releaser spray to make getting ready a lot quicker and easier. No ironing required!

Not only does this make my mornings a lot smoother but it also saves me a lot of money at the same time! I used to buy the Downy Wrinkle Releaser spray. It ranges anywhere from $8-$12 depending on the size and location of where you purchase it. I figured out how to make the same spray for pennies using items that are already in my home.

To make the DIY wrinkle releaser spray I used:

  • 1/2 cup of purified water
  • 1/2 tsp. Downy fabric softener
  • spray bottle

I like using the Downy fabric softener because it is what I buy to wash my clothes in anyway and I love the scent. You can use any fabric softener that you want, though. I like making this to put in a travel size bottle so that I can stash it in my purse or can easily add it to my suitcase if I am traveling. You can always double the recipe if you want to add it to a larger spray bottle.

I found a shirt that I hadn’t worn in a while and used the DIY wrinkle releaser spray on it. It had been waded up in the bottom of my closet so there were some real deep set wrinkles in this shirt.

I sprayed the shirt a couple of times, pulled on the bottom, top, and sides of the shirt to get the wrinkles out. I think it is a lot easier to get the wrinkles out when you have the clothes hanging up like I do here.

I love how well this worked! You can see how it got almost every wrinkle out and dried pretty quickly. This only cost me about $0.15 or $0.25 to make compared to the travel sized bottles that are selling on Amazon for $6! I will be making this DIY wrinkle releaser spray instead of purchasing from the stores from now on.
