If you like using high end beauty products, you know that it gets expensive to feed your beauty addiction. I always want to save money on makeup and I’ve found 11 ways to save at Sephora that may help you fuel your beauty shopping without spending a fortune.

Use these tips and tricks to save money at Sephora and get your favorite must haves. Secrets to save on makeup, skin care, and hair care.

Sephora is one of the most popular beauty stores so I know a lot of you may be able to put this information to good use.

I love trying the newest beauty products but I tend to stick to the less expensive stores. I would love to be able to shop in Sephora all the time but I just can’t spend that much on makeup. I have my eye on you, Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette!

Smart Ways to Save at Sephora

Beauty Insider

For those of you that do frequent Sephora regularly, make sure you are signed up with the Beauty Insider rewards program.

There are 3 different levels: less then $350, $350-$1,000, and $1,000+. You unlock a new level when you spend the required amount for that calendar year.

They have awesome perks like: free birthday gift, free beauty classes, product rewards, special promo events, and more.

Shop Through Ebates

If you are going to be shopping online, make sure you shop through Ebates to get cash back on your purchase. They usually offer 4% cash back at Sephora but they are currently doubling that to 8% as of this posting.

That is almost 10% off your purchase just by using Ebates. Plus, if you are new to Ebates, you get a $10 cash bonus when you make your first $25 purchase within 90 days of signing up.

Get Rebates through Ibotta

Sign up for the Ibotta app, it’s free. They are currently offering a $5 rebate when you spend $50 at Sephora. You just take a picture of your receipt and they add $5 to your Ibotta account.

I use this all the time for groceries so I love that they are offering stores like this now, too. Plus, if you are a new member, you get a $10 bonus when you redeem your first rebate. So that is $15 off your Sephora purchase!

Sephora Flash

If you shop the Sephora website a lot, you may want to consider a Sephora Flash subscription.

It is free 2-day shipping on all orders (no minimum) for a year for only $15! Considering orders less than $50 have a charge of $5.95, this is a really good deal.

Money Saving Tips for Sephora

Sephora Favorites Samplers

If you are interested in buying a fragrance from Sephora, make sure you check out the Sephora Favorites fragrance samplers.

They offer  15 samples of various high end fragrances for $65. Here is the good part, each set comes with a certificate you can redeem for a FULL SIZE bottle of any of the fragrances in the box.

I did a quick search and just one of the full size fragrances would cost $80! So you could get an $80 fragrance plus all of the samples for only $65!

Ask for Free Samples and Mini Makeovers

If you are on the fence about spending a lot on a new product, ask a sales associate if you can get a free sample to try out. They will usually give you a decent sized sample and you don’t get buyer’s remorse.

You can only get 3 samples from each department so don’t go crazy with the sample requests. Sephora also offers free mini makeovers so you can get a smokey eye or contouring for free.

This is a great way to get tips and see how different products look on you.

If you love trying new samples, you may want to subscribe to the Play! By Sephora subscription box. It is only $10 a month and comes with 5 trial size products, makeup bag, tutorials, and more.

Return Policy

Sephora has a great return policy. You can return used or unused items without a receipt for store credit. I know that it takes a while for some products to work, like skin care, so this is great if you aren’t seeing the results that you thought you would.

If you have a receipt, you can get a full refund. They do ask for ID so don’t think you can return a bunch of half used product. I don’t think that would go over really well!

Shop Sephora on a Budget

Shop JCPenney

Did you know that a lot of JCPenney stores have Sephora stores inside of them? You can use your JCPenney gift cards to purchase Sephora products that are only in the JCPenney stores.

If you don’t have a Sephora close to you, you can shop online at JCPenney.com The Sephora stores inside JCPenney usually have the best clearance deals.

They are smaller so they have to get rid of extra inventory quickly so they usually price them to move fast!

Discount Gift Cards

If you want to save even more on your Sephora purchases, you can buy discounted gift cards.

I know that Cardpool offers up a discount of 8% on Sephora gift cards and 16.5% on JCPenney gift cards that can be used on Sephora products. Raise also offers great discounts as well. Use these with the tips above to really score a great deal!

Facebook

Make sure to follow Sephora on Facebook. They will usually offer up free samples and keep you up to date on the latest promotions and sales.

Value Sets

Always check out the Value Sets that Sephora offers. Most of the time they are around the same price as the full sized item but you get a bunch of other products included for the same price!

For example, I saw a DryBar blow dryer that was $195. There was a value set that included the exact same blow dryer plus a ceramic brush, hair clips, shower cap, UV protectant, and Triple sec 3-in-1 for $199.

So for only $4 more, you would get all of those awesome products!

I am sure I have missed other ways to save at Sephora. Always check out the sale and clearance sections and check out Retailmenot.com or Ebates for some coupon codes to use online.
