Using Discount Gift Cards to Save Money

January 12, 2016 by hewella1 Leave a Comment

One of the easiest ways to save money is to use discount gift cards. This is perfect for people that say they don’t have the  time or the energy to use coupons.

The easiest way to save money is to use discount gift cards. Especially if you hate to coupon

I love the fact that you can get discount gift cards to pretty much anywhere. You can save as much as 30% on your purchase just by using these. I like to keep them on hand for the stores I shop at the most: Target, CVS, movie theaters, etc.

If you do like to coupon, this is just another way to add to your savings. Just shop the sales and use your coupons, then pay with your discount gift card to really maximize your savings.

There aren’t just store gift cards available at a discount, you can also get gift cards to restaurants as well. I know that with Valentine’s Day coming up you are probably looking for ways to save on date night. Pay with a discount gift card,…nobody has to know 😉

This is also a great way to sell your unwanted gift cards as well. Some people get gift cards as gifts for Christmas or birthdays that they don’t want. Instead of letting them go to waste, you can sell them to one of these sites for about 90% of the value (depending on the merchant) so that you can get what you really want.

So, where do you find all of these discount gift cards? There are a lot of sites out there that offer them but my favorites are the ones below. They seem to offer up the biggest discounts. (affiliate links)

CardPool

Restaurant.com

CardCash

Raise.com

These sites have everything from Starbucks, Walmart, Best Buy, Sephora, Home Depot, etc. There are just way too many to name. It seems like the higher value that you buy, the bigger your discount.

Have you tried using discount gift cards to save extra money? I would love to hear about your experiences.
