There are several ways that I can afford to stay at home with my daughter. One of those is to make extra money on social media accounts. I use my Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts to make some side income to help support my family.
The nice thing is that you don’t have to be a blogger to do this. It does help to have a good number of followers. The more followers you have, the more opportunities you will get and the more money you make.
This post contains affiliate links that help support this blog.
Affiliate Links
You can post affiliate links on Facebook and Twitter to earn some extra income. You can post products or services that you think your followers would like and every time someone makes a purchase, you earn a commission. The commission will vary based on the different affiliate networks that you use. My favorite affiliate networks are:
Sponsored Posts
Companies will pay you to advertise or post about their product on your social media accounts. I personally use Izea for all of these. They have sponsored tweets as well as Facebook and Instagram posts that you can bid on. You name your price and if you are chosen, simply post the content on your account. It is really easy and I made several hundred dollars last year just off of Izea alone.
Izea does have a free plan you can use but your are limited to only 5 bids per month. I highly recommend signing up for the Standard plan. It is only $1 per month and you get unlimited bids. Considering I make $100-$150 per month, the $1 fee is well worth it!
Make Money from your Selfies
Stylinity is an app that is taking the selfie seriously. You just download the app and take pictures of you in your favorite outfits. The clothing does have to be from one of the 180+ retailers that are on Stylinity. If people like what you are wearing, they can click on your picture and purchase the items directly from the store. When they do, you get paid! It’s not just for clothes, it can be makeup, accessories, and home decor as well.
Advertising on YouTube
If you love making videos, you can make money off of ads on YouTube. Through the YouTube Partner program, they sell advertising to various companies that will be shown before your video. The more subscribers and views you have, the more money you make.
Referral Links
Referral Links are similar to affiliate links except it is usually a one time sign up. When someone signs up for a program using your link, you get money or credit to use at the particular site. It is a great way to earn credit and get free items for products you would usually buy anyway. The good thing is that most offer an incentive to your followers too, like free credit for their first purchase. Some of the ones I use are:
Apparel
ThredUp ($20 credit when you first sign up)
Makeup
BeautyKind (Get $25 credit when you first sign up)
Money Saving
Ibotta (get $10 when you first sign up)
Ebates (Get a $10 bonus when you first sign up)
Shop at Home ( $5 GC when you first sign up)
I hope that these get you thinking about all of the ways you can use social media to your advantage. There are so many ways to make extra money on social media. You can sell your own products, do online coaching, tutoring, the sky is the limit. Just get creative with it and see what works for you and your followers.
