Tips for a Smoother Morning Routine

December 14, 2015 by hewella1 Leave a Comment

I received product for review purposes only. All opinions on my own.

Mornings can be chaotic, especially if you have a family to get out the door. There are some ways you can have a smoother morning routine to make your life a lot easier and less stressful. These are fairly simple changes that you can make that will have a big impact on the way your day starts. Get your family on board and you will see a big difference.

TIps for a smoother morning routine that will help save your sanity.

Check the Weather

This is one of the easiest things you can do the night before. You don’t want to have your kids dressed in shorts and flip flops if it is going to be raining. Check the weather and get the appropriate clothes set out for every member of your family. Have the kids pick out what they want to wear so that there will be no surprise wardrobe changes the next morning.

Have a Centrally Located Calendar

I like having a calendar located in the kitchen or entry way where everyone can see it and write down any appointments or practices that they have to get to. This way everyone is on the same page about what to expect that day and there are no surprises. I like using a magnetic dry erase board because you can attach important papers that you may need to grab too.

Get Everything Together the Night Before

Have the kids get their backpacks and permission slips ready the night before. I really think entryway hooks are a great way to keep things organized. Have them hang up their backpacks by the door and their shoes underneath them so there is not searching for a missing shoe when you are heading out the door. It is also a good idea to get lunches made the night before

easy breakfast

Eat an Easy to Make Breakfast

You know that it is important to eat breakfast but there are so many more things you can have instead of cereal. You can make a batch of muffins or granola on a Sunday to have for the whole week. Just pair it with some fresh fruit or yogurt and you have a quick healthy breakfast that didn’t take a lot of time to make. Leave the waffles and omelettes for the weekends.

Prep your Coffee the Night Before

I try to make sure that my coffee is prepped and ready to go before I even get up. I use the Ninja Coffee Bar to help me have a smoother morning routine. I love this coffeemaker! I just put my coffee into the reusable filter and use the delay brew setting to have my coffee hot and ready before I even wake.

I can have regular coffee, iced coffee, or specialty drinks depending on what mood I’m in. I usually make just one cup of coffee in the morning but when I have company, I use the thermal carafe to make a full pot for everyone to enjoy. There are even different brewing options for how you like your coffee: classic, rich, over ice, and specialty brew.

I have really enjoyed the Ninja Coffee Bar and I think it is perfect for families or a single person. There is just so many options you can make. It comes with a recipe book to get you inspired and you can watch their YouTube channel for even more recipe ideas. I personally, can’t wait to try the iced mocha latte!

Get a Good Night’s Sleep

I know that it can be difficult but the more rested you are, the better day you will have. You know how much sleep your body needs so make sure to get it. This may mean going to bed 30 min. earlier but you know that your body will thank you for it.

Try some of these tips for a smoother morning routine and see if they help you and your family get out the door faster and calmer. Let me know what tricks you do to get ready for the day.
