I received tickets in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.
I was able to take my daughter to see the Disney on Ice: Let’s Celebrate! show on Nov. 25th. I attended the show in Greenville, SC on opening night. It was packed and there were so many excited kids ready to see their favorite Disney characters. I have to admit, I was excited too!
We went to the event a little early because I read that there would be a pre-show event. It said that the skaters would be warming up and they would teach the audience how to do a little dance. Well, there was not pre-show at our event. I don’t know if this was just for opening night or if they just don’t do the pre-show anymore, but we were disappointed that we got there so early and there was nothing for her to watch while we waited for the show to start.
Make sure to bring a lot of money if you plan on getting souvenirs or snacks. I was a little shocked at how much things were. A popcorn was $12 and a drink was $15! They also sell cotton candy, sno-cones, light up souvenirs, shirts, and more. So be prepared.
Once the show started, my daughter was in awe! I was surprised at how she sat still and watched the entire show. I really thought she would fall asleep since it was so close to her bedtime but she stayed up for the whole thing. She was dancing and singing along. Mickey Mouse was her favorite. Her face lit up when she saw him. She also loved the Hawaiian Luau when they did a fire dance.
There were several different parts to the show:
- Unbirthday Party w/ Alice in Wonderland
- Halloween w/ Jack Skellington & Disney Villains
- Royal Ball w/ all the Disney Princesses
- The Sorcerer’s Apprentice w/ dancing broomsticks
- Hawaiian Luau w/ Lilo & Stitch
- Trip to Japan
- Trip to China
- Trip to Mardi Gras
- Toy Story
- Winter Wonderland
My favorite part was the Jasmine and Aladdin skate. They were great and so graceful. They did some amazing lifts. I also liked seeing the Halloween skit with all of the Disney Villains. I also enjoyed the Sorcerer’s Apprentice skit where they had skating broomsticks that glowed in the dark. It was really cool.
There is an intermission so you can get snacks or go to the bathroom. My daughter is almost 2 and she really enjoyed this show. There is so much going on that it kept her attention the whole time. We really enjoyed the show and had a great time.
