Holiday Gift Idea: Shark Rocket Powerhead

November 17, 2015 by hewella1 Leave a Comment

I received product for review purposes only. All opinions are my own.

I never thought that I would one day ask for a vacuum for Christmas but that is exactly what I wanted this year. My current vacuum had seen better days and with two dogs that shed, I needed a good quality vacuum. I was so happy when Shark wanted me to review their latest, the Shark Rocket Powerhead.

When the Shark Rocket Powerhead arrived, I was like a kid with a new toy and I couldn’t wait to try it out. To my surprise, the vacuum was very easy to assemble and the directions were simple and straight forward. It came with the vacuum, All-surface brushroll, Gentle touch hard floor brushroll, and a brushroll caddy.

You just snap the brushroll caddy onto the side of the vacuum so that you can easily store the brushroll that you aren’t using. The brushrolls are very easy to change out and I didn’t have any problems with them. I only use the Gentle Touch brushroll in my kitchen because the rest of my house is carpet so it isn’t a hassle to change them out.

The brushes are very easy to clean as well. I like that they have a groove for scissors so that you can cut any hair out that might get tangled in there. I have long hair and it gets all over the floor so I have to clean the brushes after every couple of uses.

The Shark Rocket Powerhead is very lightweight, it only weighs 9 lbs, not including the cord, and feels like 1 lb. when in use. I like that it is very easy to maneuver when you push forward and feels like it is self-propelled. The downside to that is that you have to use more force when you pull it back. It did make my arm a little tired but it might be something that I just get used to. It is not difficult, it is just more force than I am used to.

The vacuum also has an adjustable height handle that I really like. I am tall so I need a long handle but I can lower the handle for easier storage. It doesn’t take up as much room in my closet as my other vacuum did. The dustcup is stored in the head of the vacuum. It easily pops up when you step on the lever and you can empty it with a touch of a button.

I said before that I have two dogs who shed A LOT. You can see from my carpet that the little white one sheds the most. I vacuum my carpets every single day and it still looks like this the next day! I usually have to go over my rug several times with my other vacuum to get all of the little hairs up but I only had to go over it once with the Shark Rocket Powerhead. This will save me so much time! I love the power and suction of this vacuum!

I think it did a great job and it picked up a lot of dust, dirt, and hair. My only problem with this vacuum is that it doesn’t have any attachments like a long hose or one for couch cleaning. I use those attachments a lot on my other vacuum to get into tight corners and to get down any cobwebs. For that type of cleaning, I will still use my older vacuum but for everyday cleaning, I will be using the Shark Rocket Powerhead.

One of the other features I love is the long cord. I usually would have to unplug every time I needed to vacuum another room but with this one, I can get the majority of my entire house vacuumed without having to unplug the vacuum. The Shark Rocket Powerhead is available at retailers like Kohl’s, Target, Bed Bath & Beyond, etc. Prices start at $169 so it is an affordable option.

I think that the Shark Rocket Powerhead is worth the money and you really get a deep clean. I am happy with it, I just wish it had attachments. If you or anyone you know is in need of a vacuum this holiday season, I highly recommend the Shark brand!
