The holidays can be such a busy and stressful time of year that we can sometimes forget what is really important, those we love. When you have kids, your spouse can sometimes feel forgotten about so it is so important to spend quality time together, just the two of you. I like to plan a 12 days of romance for the holiday season as a special treat for the two of us.
Our anniversary is right before December, so we always like to make a little time for ourselves to celebrate before the hustle and bustle of the season starts. This will be our 11th anniversary! I can’t believe it has been so long. We are planning on doing a romantic couples massage that includes strawberries and champagne! You know I found a great deal with an online coupon 🙂
Some other ways we like to connect are by going out for coffee or dessert. We rarely have time to go out for dinner now that we have a toddler. So a quick coffee or dessert is a great way to relax and catch up without spending a lot on a fancy dinner.
I love using a Love Notes or Love Coupon book for some great ideas to spark the romance. I found a really cute one a couple years ago that has some really sweet and simple ideas that can mean a lot. Like letting your partner pick the movie, going for a walk in the park, cooking a meal together, etc. Just randomly pick a page and do the activity listed. It can be a lot of fun and maybe lead to something else.
If it does lead to a bit more later that night, make sure you have everything you need on hand. I went to my local Walmart to get some K-Y® Yours+Mine® Couples Lubricants® to have for our special nights. There is even a $2 printable coupon that you can use. You know I did!
I found the K-Y® Yours+Mine® Couples Lubricants® in the Family Planning section near the Pharmacy. They even had it locked up in a box. I like that this product can make your romantic time with your partner even more special. It can help you rekindle the passion and bring you closer together this holiday.
These are some of the ways we try to have a better relationship and try not to take each other for granted. That can happen after 11 years! What are some of the ways you stay connected through the holidays? Do you have special date night ideas?
