Like most moms, I am always on the go and my cell phone is my life line. I use it to help me shop, keep my toddler calm, get directions, manage my blog, etc. I need an affordable cellular service that will provide me with everything I need to get through my busy day. I know that not everyone is like me, some use their phone more and some use it a lot less, that is why I think the Walmart Family Mobile plans are perfect for every budget.
I was able to meet with a Walmart Family Mobile ESR rep at my local store to learn more about what they have to offer. My rep, James, was very courteous and professional. He was very knowledgeable and able to answer all of my questions. I learned that there are 3 types of plans that Walmart Family Mobile offers, they range from $24.88 per month for unlimited talk & text to $39.88 per month for unlimited talk, text, & data. These plans are very affordable especially if you just want it for talking and texting. I know a lot of the older generation doesn’t want all of the bells and whistles, they just want to make phone calls and maybe text, this is perfect for that! I went with the plan where service is $29.88/month (for the first line) Unlimited Talk, Text & Data which includes up to 1G of 4G LTE data.
The phones themselves are also affordable for any budget. They range from $19.88 all the way up to $199.99. There is seriously something for everyone. This is great if you have younger kids and you are afraid they may not take care of their phones. You can even add up to 5 lines total to your plan. Great for people with teens and kids in college!

I was worried about the coverage but James said that he hasn’t had any problems or complaints from his customers with them losing coverage. He actually pulled out his own phone that was on the Family Mobile plan and it had 4 bars, he then pulled out his business phone (which was with another well known carrier) and it only had 1 bar!
After hearing all about the plan, I was ready to get my phone set up. I even had the option of transferring my old phone number to this phone if I wanted to. To get started, I had to buy the phone and the starter kit which is only $25. All I needed was my ID and made up a PIN number for my account and after 5 minutes, my phone was ready to be used. It was quick and painless, no contract required. I will be billed at the end of the month and I can cancel anytime I want to.
I have been using my new Family Mobile plan for a little while now and so far everything has been working fine. My daughter loves to watch her little videos on it. This can help calm her down in a store if I sense a tantrum coming on. I love that the Family Mobile plan fits my budget and I am not tied down by a contract. I like knowing that I won’t lose coverage while I am out running errands, that I can easily get online for directions, and use my phone to help price match while I’m shopping. I use this feature a lot!
