Midday Snack Recipes with Shamrock Farms

August 12, 2015 by hewella1 132 Comments

This is a sponsored post for Shamrock Farms. All opinions are my own.

School is starting back for a lot of kids. As moms, we need to be prepared for when they come home hungry! You want to give them a healthy midday snack that they will enjoy. Shamrock Farms has come up with some great midday snack recipes that will please any hungry kid. The snacks will pair perfectly with the new Shamrock Farms on-the-go mmmmilks.

Yummy and easy Midday Snacks for kids

Shamrock Farms has launched the new 12oz. on-the-go mmmmilks at Walmart. They are individual sized milks packed with 25% of daily recommended protein. They come in chocolate, strawberry, and whole regular milk. You can find them in the dairy aisle and they are only $1! These will be great to pack in the kids’ lunch boxes, too! They are fresh, nutritious, and don’t have any added hormones…something that this mom loves.

Moms are busy and we need help with some after school snack ideas. That is why Shamrock Farms introduced Roxie’s Midday Menu with easy to make recipes that pair with their milk. I created two recipes for my family to enjoy. The first recipe I tried was the Protein Popsicle Smoothies. These were perfect for a hot summer day and they are so refreshing and good for you!

Ingredients

  • ½ cup Shamrock Farms Strawberry Reduced Fat mmmmilk
  • 1 cup Greek vanilla yogurt
  • Your choice of fresh or frozen fruit (I used fresh strawberries and frozen blueberries)

Directions

Combine Shamrock Farms Strawberry Reduced Fat Milk and Greek vanilla yogurt, pour into blender. Add desired fruit (about a handful of each), can be a mix of fresh and frozen fruit. Blend until smooth.

Add the mixture to your favorite popsicle molds. Freeze for 3 to 4 hours & enjoy!

The next recipe I made were the No Bake Energy Bites. We all know that kids need a pick me up after school to get started on that homework. These paired perfectly with the regular on-the-go mmmmilk. You can make these as large or as small as you want.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup chocolate chips (I used semi-sweet)
  • 1 cup toasted coconut
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup nut butter (I used peanut butter)
  • 1 cup dry oatmeal

Directions

Pour all ingredients into medium size bowl. Stir ingredients until combined. Roll into balls. Refrigerate until firm.

There are 4 other recipes that you can try from the Midday Menu:

  • Banana Rolls
  • Fruit Bars
  • Fruit Kabobs
  • Healthy S’more

To help celebrate the launch of the on-the-go mmmmilks in Walmart stores, Shamrock Farms is holding an Ultimate Back-to-School Sweepstakes until August 20th, 2015. One lucky winner will receive a prize package of nearly $5,000 ($4,999) that includes gift cards to buy school supplies, groceries and a new wardrobe! How great would it be to win that!

If that wasn’t awesome enough, Shamrock Farms is offering one of my very own readers the chance to win a $100 Walmart gift card. You can buy a lot of milk with that! Who couldn’t use an extra $100 for back to school? This is open to US residents only. To enter, just fill out the Rafflecopter form below.
