This post will probably only appeal to my fellow bloggers but I feel that blogging is a great opportunity for anyone looking to make money from home. It can replace a full time income or just be some extra money you make on the side, it all depends on how much work you are willing to put into it. I am going to start doing a blog income report every month so you can see that people really do make a living off of blogging if that is something that you are interested in learning more about.
I am hoping that the reports will show you why I choose to do sponsored posts and affiliate links on my site. I know that some people don’t like posting them on their blogs but I see my blog as a business and it is a way for me to help support my family. I also want to show other bloggers that are just starting out that it takes a lot of hard work but it is possible to earn an income from your blog. I hope you can find some inspiration from this.
You do not have to be tech savvy to be a blogger, I certainly am not. You can even start a blog for only $3.95 a month.
One of the ways I learned how to really make income from my blog was by taking the Elite Blog Academy course. I can’t recommend it enough. They will be open again for registration in February 2017 for EBA 3.0 so you can start saving up if you are interested in the course.
Ruth Soukup, the creator of EBA, actually has some free training videos that she is offering from EBA 2.0. You can sign up for that free training to get some great tips.
Keep in mind that I have been blogging since 2012 but only have treated my blog like a business for the past 3 months. With that being said, here is my blog income report for July, 2015:
Affiliate Links
Amazon Affiliate: $6.19
Thrive Market: $25.00
Blogger Networks
Izea: $92
Clever Girls: $525
Massive Sway: $700
SheSpeaks: $150
MomSelect: $75
Other Sponsored Posts: $100
Total: $1673.19
I don’t have my numbers from my ad network yet, but it should only be around $3-$5. I really don’t make anything from ads. So this month was pretty good for me. I made almost $1700! That is not bad for only 2 months of treating my blog as a business and being more consistent.
I have all of the blogger networks that are in the report at the bottom of my site if you would like to click on the links to take you to the page where you can sign up for those yourself. I will say that most of the networks have not paid me yet, these are all still pending. You usually get paid 30-90 days after you post. But this is all of the work I have done for them in July and will be paid for.
I do have some goals for the next few months. The biggest one of which is to get more traffic from Facebook. I am going to be doing the Holly Homer method to see if that can help me grow my page and build more of a community over there. I will keep you updated on how that is going, or you can just follow me on Facebook to see for yourself…wink, wink :).
