Top 5 Money Saving Apps

June 19, 2015 by hewella1 9 Comments

There are so many ways to save money with all the technology available to us today. There are printable coupons, ecoupons, and mobile coupons. You can use all three types together to really save some dough.

There are a lot of mobile apps available to us couponers for both Android and iPhones. These are my favorite 5 money saving apps to use:

Top 5 Money Saving Apps

Money Saving Apps

Ibotta: They have great rebates for grocery shopping. They even offer rebates for restaurants, pet, home improvement, and apparel stores. You unlock rebates by watching videos for the product, reading a fact, or answering a question. Most rebates are worth $.50 -$1.00.

I have seen rebates for DVDs for $5. You simply upload a photo of your receipt once you buy the product and you get the rebate in your account. You can cash out via Paypal or gift cards.

Money Saving Apps

Checkout 51: This app is similar to Ibotta but you don’t have to do anything to “unlock” the rebate. You just buy whatever items they are offering rebates for and upload a picture of your receipt.

They list new items each Thursday. When you reach $20 in your account, they send you a check.  The best thing is that if Checkout 51 and Ibotta are both offering rebates on the same item, you can use the same receipt on both apps!

I like that they offer rebates on items you normally don’t get coupons for like milk, bananas, tomatoes, and more.

Money Saving Apps

SavingStar: With SavingStar you can use it in store or online! Once you reach $5, you can cash out via bank deposit or PayPal. They even have a healthy offer each week and sometimes they will have freebie offers where they give you the full amount you paid, back into your account!

For automatic-savings stores, use your registered store card at checkout as you normally do. For receipt-scan stores, take a picture of your receipt and submit through the SavingStar app or website.

Money Saving Apps

Ebates: I love using Ebates when I do my online shopping and they have an app you can use if you want to shop on your phone! With Ebates, you can get back 1-10% of your purchases.

Each store offers a different cash back percentage. Just look at the percentage next to the store name on the Ebates.com site to see how much savings you will earn. There are 1700 stores that you can earn cashback from.

Just click on the link from the Ebates site and you will be taken to the store’s homepage. That’s all you have to do!

Money Saving Apps

Target Cartwheel: I’m a huge fan of Target. I shop there at least once a week. I love using the Target Cartwheel app. They offer all kinds of great deals on a variety of products.

You can save anywhere from 5-50% off by just using this app. That is in addition to any other coupons you may have.

You just add the offers that you want to use to your account and show the barcode that is on the app to the cashier when you checkout and they will scan it. Then watch your total drop.

There are so many money saving apps available now but these are the ones that I save the most money with. The best thing about these money saving apps is that they are so simple to use.

I can combine them with my coupons and I have saved a considerable amount of money. If you have a smartphone, make sure you download these apps. They are all free to use and you can’t beat free money!

If you have a favorite that is not listed, please share it in the comments below so other people can learn about it.

Thanks for the great list! I am always looking for new ways to save money but I will admit that I don’t take advantage of all of the money saving phone apps. I have cartwheel on my phone but I forget to use it…I’m trying to get better though! I’ll definitely have to check these others out! Thanks for sharing!

I stink at using Ebates when I shop online. I love the Cartwheel app but now that I shop mostly at Trader Joes for food. I don’t use the other apps as much as I used to. Great tips though, these are all great! Thanks for sharing with Small Victories Sunday linkup. Pinned to our linkup board and hope you join us again this weekend.
