With the kids being out of school that means a lot of time playing outside in the sun. Along with all of this fun can come some bumps and bruises, sunburn, poison ivy, bug bites, sports injuries and anything else us moms like to worry about. You can help protect your family from the perils of summer by using Doctor on Demand.
Doctor on Demand is a really neat app that you can use to see a board-certified doctor directly from your home or anywhere else you might be. That means no waiting or having to be around a bunch of sick people. This is a great option for when you are away on vacation and someone gets hurt or sick and you can’t go see your family doctor.
I really like this for new parents. I don’t know how many times I thought that something was wrong with my new baby and wanted to take her to the doctor or had to call the pediatrician. Doctor on Demand offers pediatrics as well as regular medicine. The doctor can actually see and hear your baby so they can help determine what is wrong. This is great for those middle of the night worry sessions.
My favorite part about Doctor on Demand is that they offer Lactation Consultations too! I know I could have used this when I was nursing. I was only able to nurse for 3 months due to latching problems and lack of milk production. I did have a lactation consultation 3 days after I gave birth but it wasn’t covered by insurance so I had to pay over $100 out of pocket! The 25 min. consultations with Doctor on Demand is only $40! Plus, they can see exactly how and where you are nursing to give you better tips then if you were to lug all of your nursing equipment to the hospital like I had to do. That was not easy!
I think that Doctor on Demand is a great alternative to going to the doctor, especially if you are on vacation. If it is a life threatening issue, then obviously go to the ER, but if it is something minor or you aren’t sure what to do, then give Doctor on Demand a try. They are very affordable with a visit being only $40, which is close to my copay anyway. They can even prescribe medicine for you.
I got to try Doctor on Demand for a sunburn I had gotten over Memorial Day Weekend. I easily opened the Doctor on Demand app and was connected with a doctor to speak with. They were very nice and answered all of my questions and gave me some advice on what kind of treatments I could use to help ease my pain. I felt like I got quality care without even having to leave my house.
You can sign up with Doctor on Demand for free. There is no subscription fee, you only pay per visit. They are offering the first visit for FREE so that you can try them out and see how you like it. Just use code GINGER when you register. You need to have the code in your account by June 25th. If it’s in your account by then, you can use it all year!
