It can seem hard to go green on a budget. I know that these types of products can be more expensive so I have found a few ways on how to save on eco-friendly and natural products for my home.
I know that a lot of us want to have more eco-friendly and natural products in our homes. This is especially true if you have kids.
I do not like for my daughter to breathe in all of the toxins and chemicals that are in a lot of household cleaners. I don’t like to breathe them in myself!
Use these tips to help you save money while helping to save the environment. It’s a win-win!

Simple Tricks to Go Green on a Budget
Visit Your Favorite Brands’ Sites
There are not a lot of coupons that I find in the newspaper or on coupons.com for eco-friendly or natural products.
I will see the occasional coupon for Seventh Generation but that is about it. The best way to get coupons for your favorite natural and organic brands is to visit their websites.
Check under their Coupons or Promotions tab to see their latest offers. If they don’t have anything listed, you can simply contact them by email.
Just let them know that you love their product and would like to see more coupon offers. Sometimes they will send you coupons in the mail just for contacting them. It can’t hurt to ask!
Social Media
Do not underestimate the power of social media.
Follow the brands you love on Facebook and Twitter. You will be surprised at how many offers companies post on their social media accounts.
It may be a coupon or discount offer you can use online. Follow them and you will always be kept up do date on their latest promotions.

How to Save on Eco-Friendly & Natural Products
Thrive Market
This is an easy way to go green on a budget! Everyone knows that if you buy in bulk, you pay less per item. I came across a site called Thrive Market.
Think Costco meets Whole Foods. They offer natural and organic products at 20-50% off retail prices. There is a membership fee of $60 (less then $5 per month) per year, just like at Costco.
You shop online so you don’t even have to leave your home. They offer foods, vitamins, beauty, cleaning supplies and baby products. They have brands like: Weleda’s, Earth’s Best, Annie’s Homegrown, Seventh Generation, Eden Foods, Bob’s Red Mill, and so much more!
What I love is that the company itself is very eco-friendly. All of their boxes are made from recyclable materials and can be recycled themselves. They are a carbon neutral company.
For every paid membership, they offer a membership to a low-income American family so that they can save on healthy products too!
Subscribe and Save
Amazon carries so many eco-friendly and natural products on their site. They usually have great prices on this items.
Another way to go green on a budget is to us the subscribe and save option on eligible products. You can save up to 15% just by scheduling your items to come once a month or once every 3 or 6 months.
You can cancel the schedule at anytime. This is a great way to make sure you never run out of your favorite products again!
Ways to Save Money and the Environment
Make Products Yourself
You can save a fortune by making products yourself with ingredients you probably already have in your own home. There are so many recipes online that you can do a quick Google search for.
These are just a few of the DIY cleaners that I use around my home:

Store Brands
A lot of stores like Walgreen’s, Whole Foods, and even Target are coming out with their own eco-friendly and natural store brands.
This may include cleaners, organic food, baby products, and beauty products. If you aren’t sure if your store has their own eco-friendly brand, just ask. You may be able to save a significant amount just by buying these brands over the other labels.
These are the top ways I have been able to go green on a budget. I know there are more ways that I haven’t even thought of yet but I hope this gets you inspired to save money and live more healthfully.
I would love to hear any tips that you may have. Please share in the comments how you save on eco-friendly and natural products.

I was just thinking thoughts similar to this yesterday when I was buying a bathroom cleaner. I wear a mask when I clean but even so, I am breathing that stuff in! So I was thinking I needed to do a little research and come up with something a little more “safer.” Thanks for linking up to “Making Your Home Sing Monday” linky party!
