Copycat Chick-fil-a Chicken Salad Recipe

January 27, 2015 by hewella1

I love Chick-fil-a! I think I am borderline addicted. I was so upset when they discounted their chicken salad so I now make a Copycat Chick-fil-a Chicken salad Recipe.

I love making this during the summer when I want something light and fresh!

Make this Copycat Chick-fil-a Chicken Salad Recipe at home to make delicious sandwiches. Great if you want something light and fresh!

I scoured the internet and found a recipe that is very very close to the real thing. I really can’t tell the difference and there are only a few ingredients.

I plan on making this whenever I have some cooked chicken that needs to be used up so it won’t go to waste. I love making a big batch of this to eat for summer picnic or trips to the park.

Try out the copycat Chick-fil-a Chicken Salad recipe below and see what you think. To make it even easier, use a rotisserie chicken to save some time.

Copycat Chick-fil-a Chicken Salad Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups cooked chicken breasts
  • 1/3 cup diced celery
  • 1 minced hard boiled egg
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. sugar
  • 1/3 cup sweet pickle relish
  • 1 cup of mayonnaise

Directions:

  1. Cut the cooked chicken into tiny pieces and place in a mixing bowl.
  2. Add all the other ingredients and mix well.
  3. If you want to make a sandwich like I did below. Butter one side of each piece of bread and grill until lightly toasted. Add chicken salad and a piece of lettuce and enjoy!

chicken salad sandwich

The first time I had the Copycat Chick-fil-a chicken salad, I made the sandwich above and it was so yummy! You can also use croissants as well.

I also like to eat it with Saltine crackers to scoop up the salad for a super easy lunch or snack.

Either way was delicious. Try it for yourself, you will not regret it. I have a feeling I will be making a lot of this in future.

Oh how I love chicken salad! This looks like a fast and easy lunch over the summer. I even sometimes add chopped grapes to chicken salad and serve it over lettuce instead of bread. Will definitely be making this one 🙂

I hope you like it. I sometimes just eat it with crackers when I don’t want to cook anything 🙂

I just boiled it. You can cook it anyway you want though if you want to add more flavor or spices.

I buy a rotisserie, and fried chicken breast, or thigh, from my local grocery store deli. Remove the skin, chop everything hand. The two chickens, combined, gives really good flavor. I also add sunflower seeds, or chopped pecans. Most definitely I like dried cranberries. The dried cranberries, gives a sweet tart taste, the nuts, gives a nutty taste. Best of both worlds. I also use my sandwich grill or, dip my salad up with pita chips

Not sure this needs sugar. The relish is pretty sweet. Grilling the bread on one side is a neat idea and makes the sandwich sturdier. My guys really liked it … me? Hmm not used to relish in my chicken salad so I am not sure if I like it or not. But – my adult son said he REALLY liked it. A win!

I am a cook at a shelter and want to make this for the public. However I don’t see a servings amount on here for me to know how many times I need to double it. I serve 50 people. I was just going to go with 4 servings but thought I would ask.
