Now that my daughter is getting older, I love taking her out. She goes with me on lunches, shopping trips, and errands. The only problem is I can’t keep her out for too long because she needs to eat about every 2 hours. She is very picky and won’t eat if her formula is cold so either I have to come home to warm up her bottle or I have to take my warmer with me and find an outlet to plug it in ( not always easy). I was so excited to try the new Yoomi Feeding System to help me with this problem.
The Yoomi feeding system consists of a bottle, warmer, and pod. It is very simple: you charge up the warmer in the pod, insert the warmer into the bottle and the formula or breast milk runs over the warmer and right out the nipple. You have a very portable and convenient way to warm up your baby’s milk. I was sent the 8 oz. feeding system to try out with Aria. It also comes in a 5 oz. size as well.
When I first read the directions it was a little confusing but once I did it, the warmer is very easy to charge. You simply place the warmer into the pod and close it up. Then place the pod in the microwave for 70 seconds, shake for 30 seconds, put back in the microwave again for another 30 seconds, and then shake for another 10 seconds. The warmer is hot so you have to wait 70 minutes before you can use it or you can place it in some cold water for 20 minutes. Either way you have to plan ahead in order to use the Yoomi system.
Once you are ready to use the warmer, it will stay charged until you are ready to use it, and then it will stay warm for about an hour once you push the button. The warmer is actually filled with a liquid that makes it warm. I like that they thought of keeping this safe by making it taste bitter in case there is a leak. That way your baby won’t eat the formula if there is a leak. It is also colored a bright blue so you will be able to see it too.
I went to lunch with a friend and this was the perfect time to try out the Yoomi. I charged the pod before I went so everything was ready to go. Once Aria started getting fussy, I put some formula into the bottle and pushed the button to activate the warmer. I waited 60 seconds and then felt of the top of the bottle. It didn’t really feel that warm to me but I let Aria try the milk. She ate it like normal and everything was fine. After she was done, I opened the bottle and felt the warmer. It was very warm but the milk was lukewarm and not hot at all ( I was worried it would be too hot).
The Yoomi feeding system works great for me. I have used it several times and it is so much more convenient then trying to use an electric bottle warmer. It fits easily in my diaper bag. The system is safe and BPA free. It is also very easy to clean. The warmer can be used up to 150 times and then you will need to replace it. You can check out Yoomi and see if this would help you and your baby. You can use code: MODERNMUMMY to get 15% off your purchase. Aria loves it, I love it, and now we can spend more time out and about.
