The first 3 months of being a new parent were extremely hard. The worst part was the lack of sleep. My little girl had colic so sleep was hard to come by. I tried swaddles, sleep sacks, everything. Now that she is 5 months old, it has gotten a lot better. I am very lucky that she sleeps through the night and it makes me a better mom for her. I am still on the lookout for products that can help put her back to sleep when she does wake up in the middle of the night.
That is where the Bitta Kidda comes in. The Bitta Kidda is a wearable blanket! This is a really neat product. It is worn like a second layer, similar to a sleep sack, but it has little swatches of cloth, or lovies, sewn on to the front of the pajamas. This helps the baby find comfort and soothe themselves back to sleep. It’s great for babies starting at 3-4 months of age when they start growing out of the swaddling stage. I got one for Aria to try out.
We received a green Bitta Kidda in a 9 month size. I have to say I love the color, it is a very pretty mint green and looks great on her. It is light weight so it keeps her warm without getting too hot. The zipper is great and makes diaper changes a whole lot easier…I hate the snaps on baby clothes! I only had to show her the lovies twice and she caught on right away. When I rocked her to sleep she grabbed them instead of my hand like she usually does.
One night, Aria woke up at 2:00 am. I gave her a bottle and tried to rock her to sleep but she woke up as soon as I put her back in her crib. I walked out and watched her on the baby monitor. She grabbed the lovies on her Bitta Kidda and kicked around for a bit but in 5 minutes, she had put herself back to sleep. Thank you Bitta Kidda! This mommy needed her sleep.
I love the Bitta Kidda because it has soothers sewn right on it so babies can’t throw them out of the crib. If the pacifier falls out of Aria’s mouth then she just grabs her Bitta Kidda. It can be worn over sleepers or onesies. It is very true to size and gives her some growing room. I have washed hers several times and it is holding up great. I recommend this to any parent with a baby whether they sleep through the night or not. Some babies catch on right away, like Aria, and some may take a while to get used to the Bitta Kidda. Just stick with it and it may help your little one.
Bitta Kidda is being kind enough to offer one of my readers their very own to try out! Just fill out the form below. This is open to US residents only.

My tip is if the baby is full and dry then they should be able to go to sleep on their own.

Try to establish a sleeping routine early on, it is much harder to do as they get older 🙂
