Shirley J. Whisk Bliss Review & #Giveaway!

September 26, 2013 by hewella1 21 Comments

I don’t know what has gotten into me lately but I am cooking a lot more. I’m even watching the Food Network everyday to get some inspiration. It turns out that I don’t really mind cooking but I just don’t have a lot of time to do big meals. Between work, blogging, and getting things ready for the baby I am short on time. I look for a lot of short cuts when it comes to making dinners.

I was introduced to a new Shirley J. product called Whisk Bliss. If you haven’t heard of Shirley J. you really should check them out. They have a lot of yummy seasonings and mixes to help make your meals quicker and easier. They were kind enough to send me a bag of Whisk Bliss to try out. I was sent the original Whisk Bliss but it also comes in different varieties like Gluten free, White Cheddar, and Dessert Creme. Yum!

Whisk Bliss is a universal cooking base. You can use it to make all kinds of sauces, soups, and dishes. It can be used as a substitute for canned, condensed soups and in most recipes that start with butter, flour and cream or milk. I like that the sauce is really basic and you add the ingredients and spices to make it your own. Shirley J has a few recipes on their site that include the Whisk Bliss if you need some help getting started.

I chose to make some Alfredo Sauce since I already had some cooked chicken and fettuccine noodles. It was super easy to make. All I did was follow the recipe on the bag: I added water to the Whisk Bliss and whisked away. I then added some Parmesan and some garlic powder and let it get a little thicker. That was it! It only took about 5 minutes to make the sauce. It was yummy and simple, my kind of recipe. Note: I didn’t get a picture of the meal because I was too hungry…hey, I’m pregnant!

I will be using the Whisk Bliss again and experimenting with some recipes of my own. You can buy a bag of Whisk Bliss for only $17.95. This is a BIG bag (32 oz.) that will last you quite a while. Shirley J. is being kind enough to offer one of my readers the chance to win their very own bag of Whisk Bliss to try. This is open to US residents only. No PO Boxes. Just fill out the form below. Good luck!
