Let me just start off by saying I was never a huge Michael Bublé fan but when I heard “Haven’t Met You Yet” on the radio, I feel in love with the song and his voice. I love the fact that most of his songs are very happy and just put you in a good mood. His new album, To Be Loved is no exception.
To Be Loved is a mix of golden standards and 4 original songs co-written by Michael Bublé. He covers hits from Frank Sinatra, the Bee Gees, Jackson 5, Elvis Presley, Van Morrison, and more. I love the fact that I already knew a few of the songs and could sing along to them right away. I loved all of his renditions of the classics.
My favorite song on the whole album is “It’s a Beautiful Day”. It has a really up tempo feel and you think it is going to be a song about this great relationship but it turns out that he is happy he left the person that was making him miserable. I think it is a nice spin on the normal depressing breakup songs that we hear all the time. There are times when the relationship ends and you are better off.
I was looking forward to the duet Michael has with Reese Witherspoon ( love her!) on “Something Stupid”. I was a bit disappointed though. The song was just OK and I could barely hear Reese singing. I don’t know if there was something wrong with my headphones but I could hear everyone else he did a duet with. But out of 12 songs that is the only one I didn’t care for.
I recommend getting Michael Bublé’s new album, To Be Loved. It is full of great music and I am just happy when I listen to it. It helps me get through a long work day. You can currently buy the album on Amazon for only $12.49 and you can also get samples of each track.
