PMD Personal Microderm Review

January 9, 2013 by hewella1 Leave a Comment

As I’m getting older, I have started to notice some changes in my skin. I’m getting closer to 30 and I have noticed some lines and crow’s feet starting to form on my face and I’m not happy about it at all. I have always tried to take care of my skin but I am becoming more aware of the imperfections and I want to fix them now. But being the frugal person that I am, I’m not willing to shell out hundreds and thousands of dollars for spa treatments.

I was so glad I discovered PMD Personal Microderm. PMD Personal Microderm is a patented, “at-home” microdermabrasion device. This little tool is a miracle and at $179 for the kit, it sure beats spa treatment prices. When I opened the package I saw the PMD device, the instructional video, the charger, seven different exfoliating discs, and 2 caps ( one for the face and one for the body) that go on top of the tool. I loved that it has an instructional video because it can be a little intimidating when you first see it. Also you don’t need any batteries, just attach the charger to the device and plug it into an outlet.

You must make sure that you clean your face before each use. The kit comes with 3 different levels of exfoliating discs. I used the “starter disc” for my first use. They are color coded so you can’t mess this part up. I was afraid it was going to hurt but I didn’t feel any pain, just a little tug on my skin. I used it in an upward motion and was sure to stay away from the eye area. This area is too sensitve for microderm.

Once I was done, my face was all red. It took a good 20 minutes for it to get back to the normal color. I advise doing the treatment before bed so you are not going out with a red face. They tell you to immediately moistruize your face after you use the PMD and apply sunscreen before you go outside. I used the PMD once a week so that my skin would have time to repair itself. I got more confident handling the device with each use. I am now on the highest level of exfoliating disc and my skin has had such an improvement.

I used the product for three weeks and noticed some good results. My skin is clear and brighter. I haven’t had any acne breakouts since I have been using the PMD and that is a big deal for me. I also noticed that my pores are smaller and my skin isn’t as dry. This is because all of my moisturizer and facial products are being better absorbed into my skin. I am very happy with this product and I will continue to use it every week. I can’t wait to try the body discs and start seeing results with those.

I know that this is a little pricey for some of you but, in my opinion, it is totally worth it. It helps get rid of blemishes, wrinkles, fine lines, large pores, and more. You can even head to the PMD website to check out before and after photos.

Disclosure: I received a PMD Microderm kit to facilitate a review. All opinions are my own.
