Dogswell Review & Giveaway

August 19, 2012 by hewella1 73 Comments

Some of you may not know, but we have a new addition to our little family. We recently adopted a new puppy. His name is Obi and he is a chihuahua/ pekingese mix. So I was glad to review some new dog products from Dogswell, or I should say Sadie and Obi reviewed some dog products.

When I received the package the dogs went nuts. They could smell all the yummy treats and food they were sent. We received several different treats and a cute gift basket. The “basket” was actually a big dog bowl. I thought that was such a cute idea and would make a great gift if you know someone that has recently adopted a dog.

As you can see from the pic above, Obi could not wait to get into the treats. He started pulling on the ribbon to open the gift basket while Sadie looked on. I immediately gave them a Happy Hips Jerky treat in the chicken flavor. I tore off a small piece for Obi and he chewed on it for a good 10 min. Sadie on the other hand devoured hers and came back for another.

I also let Sadie try the Nutrisca wet dog food. We were sent the chicken stew, salmon stew, and turkey stew recipes. She tried all three and loved them all. I barely had enough time to get the food in her bowl before she chomped it down. The Nutrisca is a grain free and potato free recipe which make it low on the glycemic index and doesn’t contribute to weight gain. Which is good because Sadie is getting older and starting to put on a few pounds (aren’t we all?) . The food actually looked good, don’t worry I didn’t try it. You could actually see the meat and vegetables in the food. It wasn’t all mush like other wet dog food we have tried.

I also let them try the Breathies in the Duck flavor. Those were a big hit. I give Sadie one every other day because her breath can get pretty bad. It hasn’t improved tremendously but I can tell a little bit of a difference. I don’t think she cares as long as her treats taste good.

What I love about the Dogswell products, is that the first ingredients are always meat, fish, or poultry. Not grains and filler. I can actually read all the ingredients and know what my dogs are eating. All of their poultry comes from cage-free animals. You can tell that they only have high quality standards. If you don’t have a dog, they also have a Catswell brand you can check out too.

I have some great news. Dogswell has provided a giveaway for you guys. They are giving away a gift basket with a variety of Dogswell products ($40 value). Your pooches will love them just like mine did. If you don’t have a dog, feel free to enter and donate it to your local animal shelter. All you have to do is fill out the rafflecopter form below. Good Luck!

Winner: Amy O.

Disclosure: I received a dogswell gift basket and treats in order to facilitate my review. All opinions are 100% my own.
