Mommy Bear Media is a great new site that offers family friendly movies and TV shows. They offer a variety of genres that are rated G, PG, and PG-13, so you won’t have to worry about kids seeing something you aren’t comfortable with. Their prices are very affordable and they offer free shipping on all orders. They carry New Releases as well as the classics so there is something for everyone.
I was lucky enough to choose a movie to review from their site. I decided to go with the movie Stardust starring Claire Danes, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Robert DeNiro. I had been wanting to see it since it came out but never got a chance to. I love that it is a fantasy with a bunch of action thrown in. Even better was the price. The movie was only $5.95 shipped to my door. I thought that was a bargain. Here is a little synopsis of the movie:
In hopes of wooing a beautiful girl (Sienna Miller), Tristan (Charlie Cox) promises to bring her a falling star. But he’s in for the adventure of his life when he discovers the star is actually a celestial beauty named Yvaine (Danes).
When an old witch Lamia (Pfeiffer) attempts to steal Yvaine’s youth, Tristan must protect her at all costs, in this magical family adventure that will make you laugh out loud and believe in love again.
I loved the cast, especially DeNiro as a cross dressing pirate. I laughed out loud at his scenes. The costumes and effects were great. This is definitely not for the younger kids, I’d say 8 and up. There was a lot of death and violence that may not be suitable for little kids and some scenes with the witches might be a little scary. Overall, I think it is a great family film full of imagination and I’d give it 3 out of 5 stars.
I received a copy of the movie for review purposes. My opinions are 100% my own.
